- Room was lovely, location was perfect for the wedding we were attending at Meldrum House hotel and the owner was very obliging in arranging an early check in for us.
- everything was great especially the food.
- Room was warm and very comfortable, breakfast was excellent.
- The hotel was absolutely lovely. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated. The food in the restaurant was delicious, definitely worth the money. All the staff are nice and friendly.
- Stuart and staff very welcoming and friendly. Very large bedroom and large bathroom. The balcony was great addition too.
Negative reviews
- No cooked breakfast.
- 1. You couldn't get straight into the pub/restaurant where you eat breakfast & evening meals. You had to go outside and back in the front hotel access area. Not a big deal, unless the weather sucked. 2. Our shower had no hot water. We told them, and they'll check it out. Should be an easy fix. Saying all that, we definitely would return.
- We could have used some house slippers. The food in the restaurant did not rise near the level of the accommodation. My ribeye, for instance, was 1cm thin and "grilled" in a pan… When you go to eat in the countryside you do not want to see supermarket frozen fries!
- Breakfast was the only negative thing. For the price per night, a hot breakfast would have been better.
- An external fan was a little disruptive

- The surrounding was serene. The WiFi network was sharp. The property manager was always ready to assist whenever I needed anything. In all of I enter Aberdeen again, I will sure look for Apartrooms.
- Apartment was great size with good facilities and provided ideal base for our visit to Aberdeen.
- The property was very clean with all the amenities needed. There was alot of storage to keep things locked away. Staff were super accommodating!
- Excellent space for relaxing and comfortable space to move and live in. All facilities were clean and fresh. Internet was super.
- Location was good, easy to find. Very clean, was very well equipped. Quiet setting.
Negative reviews
- There was none.
- Floors could have been cleaner and unfortunately electric car charger (which was one of the reasons we chose this accommodation) was not working for whole of our stay.
- Couldn't get hob to work
- The only thing that was uncomfortable was the temp in the apartment. They suggested opening windows to cool it down, and we did, but the window is only in the back of the apartment. We had to keep the front door cracked and held open with a shoe in order to cool the space down.
- The one thing that almost every other accommodation has (and we travel a lot), and this one lacked was kitchen roll!! Just a simple but really useful addition to the kitchen area.

- always great friendly staff. Spotless rooms and hallways etc Love the shower gel, shampoo- lovely smell and good quality products.
- Comfortable clean room. Good breakfast choice.
- The staff was brilliant got a nice return gift from them
- Everything from start to finish staff was exceptional especially dimetre? I think assistant manager he went out of his way far and beyond thank you so much.
- Staff were lovely, room very clean and spacious. Loved the studio room with the kitchenette. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. We arrived at a peak time for breakfast but did not have long to wait, staff were very accommodating.
Negative reviews
- No provision for dinner. Guest had to go out of the hotel for both lunch and dinner especially when weather is poor. Also, the TV remote was functioning well.
- Being guests at the hotel it was disappointing not to get a drink after 11pm
- The breakfast was a bit hit and miss, you had to order extras instead of them being out on the buffet table. This was not made clear from the first day. By day 3 we had sussed it.
- Fire alarm going off due to a hot shower
- No beans on the breakfast menu, no black pudding, all else was there, fresh fruits, bacon, sausages, but I think they should put baked beans in the menu. I asked why they don't have it, and they told me that they can bring me some, but I didn't feel like hassling them. No beans. !!

- Magnificent historic hall with real fire Friendly attentive staff Warm atmosphere Comfortable room with spacious modern bathroom Easy parking Wonderful location
- Food was good, especially breakfast. The great hall was lovely to sit round the fire on a cold winter evening. Staff friendly and efficient.
- Food was excellent and I had an enjoyable stay.
- Warm friendly welcome. Super cosy, spacious, spotlessly clean room. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Great value too. A well done to all the team at Maryculter House Hotel.
- Lovely decor and feel about the hotel. The old hall lounge is an amazing piece of history. Restaurant was very good and room was lovely.
Negative reviews
- Nothing but next time I will request a river view
- Menu could could have had a larger selection.
- Only real negative was the furniture in the room looked very worn (many scratches on the vanity unit) and there was a burn mark on the carpet where a previous resident had dropped an iron. Overall it had obviously been used for residents who had dogs and had the associated wear and tear.
- The food was excellent but a single scallop appetizer for £17 is stretching it a bit.
- £16. For a glass of red wine?

- The surroundings are stunning. Food in the Cave was amazing and we had brunch in a dome…staff were so good, attentive and accommodating
- Very spacious room, beautifully furnished.
- Room was well appointed, spacious and immaculately clean. Very good attention to detail (e.g. underfloor heating in the shower, a pint of milk for tea and coffee, a cafetiere, a tea-pot, pen – all the little things that just elevate the experience)
- Friendly welcome, very professional staff, fabulous food , large comfortable estate room with superb view
- Reception staff were very friendly, informative and professional. Lovely Christmas decorations. Our room was wonderful, really grand and magical, there was a wee dram offered (although we don't drink whiskey), the book cabinet had books which are hundreds of years old – really fascinating. The grounds were lovely, with lots of ducks and swans in the ponds. The old bar cave was pretty special, we liked hearing about the hotel's history from reception. A limited but tasty menu and good breakfast selection. And lastly, a very good cocktail selection.
Negative reviews
- Need better lighting outside at the stables rooms.
- The lighting in the room, while very stylish, was a little inadequate in places – e.g. around the tea and coffee station
- Some sockets weren’t working in the room – unfortunately our phones didn’t charge which was concerning as we had a 4 hour journey home in the snow with no phone.
- The cave bar and restaurant menu choices and portion sizes. Too small portions and limited choice especially for vegan/ vegetarians
- Paths very slippery between main hotel and our room

- Whirlpool very hot and soothing on my disability joints and muscles, absolutely loved my initial feeling when you enter pool area from the corridor of disabled room, subdued lighting, pool lit from inside the water, it's fantastic, gives the impression of swimming at night, I loved it. Buffet breakfast Sunday was nice, Monday was not so good with most things dry and rubbery probably a bit hit and miss. The coffee machine area needs to be moved around the corner or changed. The queue for coffee machine blocks the queue for food one needs to change the other side has toast cooking so one of these two positions coffees or toast area needs changing to cut down on confusion. Maybe a member of staff could help expedite this until planning better thought out as it's a bottle neck situation.
- Good location, comfortable beds.
- Spa, next to concert venue, meal was nice and bar
- Very welcoming staff, very comfortable and absolutely gorgeous
- Great swimming pool and facilities. Overall a great hotel. Will definitely stay again.
Negative reviews
- Swim times for kids are limited, with preset times in and around meal times making it awkward. More thought on when kids eat could be helpful. Qr code menu needs to include sandwiches it doesn't, Sandwiches are available to order you just can't choose them as online menu differs from TV menu , although you can order by phone your still left with paying manually which is like shopping for same item twice, i.t. needs to update this whole process. We stayed at two hotels in Aberdeen and both didn't have YouTube, maybe that's a hotel thing I'm not sure, also the TV blocks Miracast meaning we can't listen to our own music when attending pj live concert it would have been nice to see our videos on full screen.
- Had to pay extra for parking which I wasn't aware of.
- Toilet in my room felt like it was going to come off the wall when I sat on it
- No complimentary biscuits or bottled water

- We were visiting Fraserburgh for a funeral, the booking was made with a short notice and, because we had relatives living in the town, we Has not booked, or expected any meals. Therefore we did not take any meals in the Hotel which has a great reputation locally in Fraserburgh, and with some members of our extended family. We did like the location, the ample parking space, and the very friendly staff.
- Friendly staff and very generous portion sizes, good value for money.
- The staff were really helpful and a very arm welcome. The rooms were relatively basic but were very clean and comfortable and had everything you would need. Unlike some places they supplied plenty teas and coffees. The breakfast was REALLY good with proper portions. I had evening meal here too, and while the food was again pretty basic, the portions more than made up for it.
- Staff very friendly and helpful. WIFI great, parking excellent. Easy to find.
- Large room with everything you need.
Negative reviews
- We had not booked an accessibility room, but when it was noted that my wife had some disability we were kindly offered that type of room. The room was clean, well heated, and had a good fridge and kettle for making tea etc. The walk in shower had a stool for a seated shower but had no handles to assisted when sitting or rising, or for stability if standing. The onlysink was inadequate for its purpose. It was too small. To fill the kettle you had fill it cupful, and was only fit for a minor washing of hands after using the toilet.
- Desk chairs in the rooms were not particularly comfortable, only an issue for me as I was here for work had to spend a good amount of time working from the room in the evenings.
- Some of the furniture in the room was a bit passed it and really could do with replacing but I am nit-picking here and it really did not detract from what was a really good stay – just first impressions and all that!
- Lacking cleanliness in bathroom
- No staff till 4 pm had to come and go via back door

- I loved the room, as it had everything we needed. The little touches of tea and coffee and robes and slippers was lovely. We loved accessing the pool for free and the restaurant.
- Lovely reception area really nice and Modern throught out the hotel except the rooms , good food and facilities
- Good value for money. Nice breakfast and choice of food. Has pool and gym which we also used.
- Swimming pool and room size. Bed super comfy. Nice breakfast. Staff good with food allergies.
- Friendly Service from the hotel staff, great facilities and the rooms are comfortable.
Negative reviews
- The beds were very uncomfortable, to the point I didn’t sleep well. I didn’t like only being able to book the pool for one hour. The TV in our room would not cast or access streaming services and there was nothing on the few available channels to watch.
- The rooms where very indated and Very expensive for drinks
- Not the best gym equipment but have seen worse.
- Noisy with families early in morning. Same family took over pool, ignored signage and made it unpleasant for everyone else. Could have done with small fridge in room.
- Fod was poor. Worst fish and chips I have ever had. The portion would have been small if it was a pensioners portion, but it was supposed to be a full portion. The batter was soggy, and the fish was grey, not white, and flavourless. Won't be eating there again.

- The situation was central and accessible from Aviemore and Inverness. The staff were excellent, helpful, and friendly. The meals were superior.
- Nice size room, modern with iron, hairdryer, mini fridge. The bar and lounges were nice. Staff were lovely and breakfast was fine. Large car park within easy reach of hotel reception.
- Good public areas, good food, and staff friendly, pleasant and helpful.
- Great facilities and close to station
- Great staff, lovely hotel
Negative reviews
- Room was very warm. Bathroom was small and surprised to see a shower curtain (which didn't stop water going all over the floor). Shower water supply pulsed fast/slow and hot/cold?
- Four poster room is tired, although bathroom has been updated. Room needs decoration, new carpet and underlay and new mattress of current quality hotel standard if want good rating on room.
- Overwhelming heating , very uncomfortable overnight
- Very hot in the room, I bought an additional fan because the one provided was inadequate. Very slippery bath.
- It was uncharacteristically warm for Scotland and it was hard to reduce the temperature in the room (we appreciate most to the time you are trying to keep guest warm). Breakfast was a bit disappointing. It was not a traditional Scottish breakfast(it was an English breakfast) there was no Lorne sausage (Square sausage) and some baked beans and haggis would have enhanced it. The continental selection was a bit disappointing too.

- Lovely staff, great food, beautiful room.
- Amazing setting
- Nice breakfast, hotel and room clean though room a bit small
- Food, drinks, staff, room comfort and cleanliness all excellent.
- We stayed 3 nights in a 2-bedroom self catering cabin located on the grounds of the hotel. The location is amazing, very close to the Loch Kinord walk and 3 miles from the nearest town. The cabin was lovely, very comfortable, super clean and had absolutely everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant on our first night which was great. There was good choice available and they had a children's menu available. I'd highly recommend the cabins for families, there is a lot to do in the area (e.g Burn O'Vat, Balmoral Castle, the snow road drive).
Negative reviews
- No indoor space to store bike.
- Pillow's too hard for my personal taste and bathroom mirror light wouldn't work correctly
- The room was not as big as we expected and rather small for my walker to move around in it. The dinner menu only had 5 different options for the main course and only 3 of them appealed to us – not enough for a week's stay. – and It did not change throughout the week. Also, one night they did not serve diner at all !
- Bathroom was basic
- The room was ok and clean but very small. The shower was terrible very little pressure at all and took an age to get a shower.
