Positive reviews

  • The bedroom was super comfortable. I’ve been in nice hotels but when I opened the door to my room I actually felt obliged to take my shoes off at the door. The carpet was really soft and everything was immaculately clean. The room cleaner should be especially commended. The bar and restaurant kept up the high standards with excellent, locally sourced product which the chef did absolute wonders with. Breakfast egg Benedict with avocado was superb and I don’t even like avocado, figure that out!? Can’t recommend this place enough – everything including the price was spot on.
  • fantastic food and drinks impeccable room all staff excellent recommend this place highly
  • Great staff interaction, good food, really good rooms.
  • All meals were excellent – served by efficient and courteous staff. All staff were great – check in/out, bar and restaurant and housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking space. Room was clean and comfy
  • Pleasant atmosphere very well renovation lovely scenery lovely food excellent stay will be back 😀

Negative reviews

  • Absolutely nothing, I would live here and probably get extremely overweight.
  • Could use a small fridge in the room though not a big deal breaker
  • Low sloping ceiling at both sides of main window in our room (23) – poor design. Tall people beware. Otherwise no negatives
  • Bar shut at 9:20pm, whilst I was expecting it to be open until 10pm – so although I got there in time, would have been nice to have a pint after a 6 hour drive before bed
  • Room was initially cold and took a while to warm up.

Positive reviews

  • It was the best room I’ve ever stayed in for the price. Fabulous. Lots of space a large wardrobe and huge dressing table fantastic mirrors. Super bath room with large oval bath Just sorry we didn’t have much time to spend in it due to our schedule
  • We liked the vibe, the fresh milk and the chargepoints .
  • Everything, the finishes, lovely room with a pitch view and really clean facilities with helpful friendly staff.
  • Absolutely everything was first class, the staff friendly and welcoming, the standard of finish in the whole hotel was outstanding. Attention to detail superb and the breakfast was fantastic!
  • Room was lovely. Big bathroom with fantastic shower and nice toiletries. Breakfast was well cooked with a good selection of fresh fruit, pastries etc.

Negative reviews

  • It stated that the restaurant was closed on the app but mentioned that the bar served bar meals. After looking on reviews we opted to book the room to have a meal there as it was my birthday treat. After checking in we went down for a meal to be told they were not doing food, which was very disappointing as that’s why we booked in the first place. We had to make do with a KFC as there is nothing else local.
  • Breakfast was included in the price but it’s only until 9, we missed both days. Ten is the norm and it should be at Mill Farm too. It was quite noisy in the early morning with doors shutting and on the first day housekeeping also started early. Maybe they are catering more for the business traveller during the week than people there on holiday which is a shame as hotel is fab! No food on site, there’s a sports bar, not sure if they serve food, menu online was just drinks. There’s a kfc and a Burger King nearby and a petrol station you can get food from plus a Starbucks if you miss the breakfast!
  • Music playing (maybe from the football stadium) could be heard in my room.
  • Lack of restaurants/dining in the evening. Breakfast was great though.
  • The cooked breakfast was disgusting the bacon and mushroom were obviously left under a hot plate and were inedible

  • It was a rainy day and you couldn’t just walk up to the pool and leisure facilities.
  • Expected a fridge in the room
  • Would have preferred to have chosen breakfast from a menu and not had a self-service buffet

Positive reviews

  • The location and the pub was lovely
  • Lovely bar, great barman. Room was comfortable and loved the bathroom with underfloor heating
  • We managed to get room 1 at an excellent rate. The room is a suite and is very spacious, well appointed and was clean and tidy. The location is great for wandering the small city of Lancaster and has (quite expensive – £14 + 40p app charge for 24 hours) council parking very close by. This is the second time we have stayed and will definitely return. The hotel is a wonderful old building with high ceilings and spacious feeling about it. The food is spot on and there are a vey good range of cask beers at the bar. We like that it is dog friendly (at a supplement!) and our small Chihuahua enjoyed her stay too.
  • Big apartment . Good value for money
  • A really fantastic pub hotel – clean, comfortable and very friendly – excellent breakfast, too!

Negative reviews

  • There were quite a few stairs. It was ok but something to be aware of.
  • Had a disappointing meal for my birthday The mains were brought out when we were obviously still eating our mains and because it was my birthday meal, we really didn’t want to be rushed. And the restaurant was so cold, diners kept their coats on. We also left a WiFi router in our room, and after three attempts, no one there answered our requests if they had found it. We eventually had to come in in person to be handed this item
  • My only complaint as it were, was that 2 single beds were pushed together to make 1 large bed. The issue was that the duvet didn't really cover the whole bed. It wasn't a major issue as we both stayed nearer the middle.
  • Our room right by fire door which banged shut every time someone walked out. Machine hummed outside bedroom window all day and night.
  • The nightclub opposite had very loud music until 4 am

  • I would like to give special recognition to Alvin, one of the barmen at the Delta Marriott Preston. His service was outstanding from start to finish. Alvin was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making the experience at the bar a real highlight of my stay. He was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about drinks, and always served with a great attitude and a smile. Staff like Alvin truly make a difference, and he is a real credit to the hotel. Thank you for such excellent service.

Negative reviews

  • Made the mistake of parking my car for two days under the only winter tree with leaves. The birds made a fine mess! Was cold during the first night until I worked out the heating. Maybe duvet a bit thin .
  • Bar staff were a bit slow but pleasant. Cooked breakfast items a bit cold.
  • They don't take cash so we had to go out for food and drinks
  • Cold swimming pool. Cost of food
  • Communication wasn't great about how payment would be taken or how the spa facilities can be used. Like were towels provided, there was next to none instructions on how to use the lockers and a lot of them didn't work I had lipstick on my glass in the room We were going to order food from the QR code to our room but couldn't figure out how to order pizza. So we went down to the bar. Ordered drinks and got told that someone would come to the table to take our food order, no one came so went up to the bar to order. Disappointed that the jacuzzi wasn't in working order, I pacifically looked for a hotel with one.
