- The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The front of house staff on reception made you feel like you were a valued guest and not just another guest. The food at the Flamstovva restaurant was absolutely delicious.
- Room had a lovely view of the fjord; breakfast was not huge selection (could do with more fresh fruit), but was more than adequate; location excellent (short walk to boat quay and train station)
- More wonderful Norwegian hospitality. We were upset that the Viking style brewery was under renovations, but the bar area in the restaurant had the Viking vibe with furs and horns and an open fire, plus Kris was very much what you'd imagine a giant Viking might look like, although he was a LOT nicer! Everyone took such good care of us. The hotel is a few yards away from the train and the ferry, so you really can't miss with their location. The other hotel is more of a walk, and the ground can be icy, so bring your crampons! (my cleats really saved the day and made me feel very comfortable and confident on the ice).
- The whole hotel is very beautiful and cozy!!! All the staff were very attentive and helpful. It's a hotel to relax and feel like you're in paradise in the beautiful village of Flåm. The room is spacious, the bathroom is large and always clean…the bed is very comfortable for resting, but the best thing about it is the view of the fjord and the snowy mountains from the balcony. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. If I ever return to Flåm, I would definitely stay here again.
- Great location Friendly staff
Negative reviews
- They could have put down more gravel for those who don't have cleats. Other than that, not a thing, it was excellent.
- Some clothes storage space would have been nice.
- No coat hooks to hang up coats… had to hang up wet coats in wardrobe using up valuable wardrobe space
- The room is small and there isn’t any bath mat available and as such, it’s a slip hazard after the shower.
- The slippery outdoor slate paving. Was quite slippery

- Really liked our stay here, some may say it s dated but it was very taken care of and clean and we loved it. Great spa and pool facilities, great restaurant and staff. We really loved the room and the view. Definitely a great place.
- The hotel is a bit outdated but has lots of character and is well-maintained. The rooms were a nice size, beds and bedding very comfortable, and rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was excellent. The best part for me was the heated pools and the jacuzzi, a great place to relax at the end of a long hiking day.
- Beautiful location Nice to have use of the spa included Food was fantastic
- The most peaceful hotel I’ve ever seen. Very clean, with excellent food and beautiful views — it has all the comfort and amenities you could wish for.
- Very beautiful hotel with history. The room is clean. We really enjoy to stay there.
Negative reviews
- Beyond me how can a local cider made across the street is the same huge price as an Italian wine, we went for the wine in the end.
- Rooms were a bit dated
- This hotel has great potential, but needs love. It looked tired from both inside and out.
- We were staggered to discover the hotel now charge for parking and the lack of information about this was not good. Given the rural location and that you cannot get there without a car this was unacceptable. Also charging NK 350 per day for a small dog just smacks of profiteering
- In Spa area , The drain hole was not cleaned and became clogged, causing the shower room to flood.

- We stayed in the older / wooden part of the hotel. The room and small sitting room was clean tidy and comfortable. Photo is of the storm coming through the mountains from our room.
- My partner and I stayed in this hotel for 1 night on our road trip journey. We had a comfortable and quiet night’s stay. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was delicious.
- Lovely, traditional hotel, wonderful staff, lovely mountain view and easy walk down to the fjord for a swim. Great breakfast, particularly the cooked to order scrambled eggs and smoked salmon
- We had late arrival, but got a superb dinner in a beautiful dining room. The way we were met by the staff was unique and we felt we were family members. Personal, professional and top class service.
- Helpful and kind staff, great breakfast, big room and parking.
Negative reviews
- No kettle in the room. No where in the bathroom to put your wash stuff
- No Fan or AC and small rooms
- although it was fun feeling like we travelled back in time, everything really feels too old and in need of renovations.
- The village was hosting an annual cultural event, and a nearby hotel (just 200m away) was holding a musical rock concert in open-air marquees. This went on until about 2am – resulting in a poor night's sleep. The next morning, it turned out that the hotel knew of this event a long time ago – but had done nothing to notify us that it was taking place (giving us a chance to cancel and book elsewhere). This is just carelessness on the part of the hotel.
- – room smells cleaning product – bathroom smells like mold – bathroom don't have basic things like a mat or brush – bath is slippery and bathroom becomes a swimming pool when you use the shower: there is water everywhere on the floor – curtains are damaged and dirty – it is very noisy in the evening with motoycle groups hanging on the shop in front – the building is not the charming one you see on the picture, it is an annex with concrete ugly boxy architecture If you are alone or in a small group try to find other option, for the price there can be much better places.

- Very nice hotel. Beautiful view from our room. And there if an elevator which is a plus
- The resturant at the hotel is amazing. Staff really attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious
- Beautiful location, well kept grounds good restaurant and nice meals we would not hesitate to return for another stay
- Beautiful setting on the fjords and at the start of the snow road. Staff was nice and breakfast is very good.
- Fantastic view from unit. Very friendly staff on arrival. Heating worked well.
Negative reviews
- The equipment in the room. There were no TV, no hairdrayer and no place to Get eid of garbage.
- The price was completely inadequate for the quality. The room, aside from a bed, two armchairs, and a table, lacked anything else that other hotels in Norway offer. Everything was missing: a kettle, glasses, an iron, an ironing board, a hairdryer, and a TV, although we didn't need them. We were traveling with children, and a kettle and glasses would have been helpful. We personally advise against staying at this hotel. It's better to find other accommodation nearby at a much lower price and certainly much better quality. The worst hotel and also the most expensive one we stayed at in Norway during our family vacation, and we stayed in several hotels.
- Shower seals ineffective – whole of bathroom floor therefore gets wet
- There was some hair on the bathroom floor, also in the drawer in the bathroom.
- Rooms are old (pictures on booking are quite misleading), small and uncomfortable. They are not adequately protected from sunlight, so expect to wake up around 5.30 in Summer. Beds are uncomfortable (apparently that is common to every single hotel in Norway though. Beds were almost identical in every hotel we visited). In general, the hotel and the rooms had a strange smell. Breakfast was really poor. There was no hot milk, no coffee alternatives to serving yourself a bad coffee form a thermos. In general, very poor options for guests used to mediterranean breakfast. Last, the information you'll receive on the restaurant is a little bit misleading too. You are told there is either an expensive restaurant (good but overpriced) or a bar with smaller snacks and that you have to book the restaurant in advance. There are no alternatives nearby so you make the reservation. You get there and discover their bar was basically a restaurant, offering proper and cheaper food…

- Very Good place to stay with family. I was happy to get the EV charging station inside the campus which was very helpful
- Breakfasts were FABULOUS! Best we've had in 4 weeks in Norway! Comfy lounge ~ coffee, tea and cake available all day. Good elevator.
Negative reviews
- Fitness room was not ventilated at all with a strong smell of plastic. The room with the pool and games was rather dirty and outdated. The design choice with the photos is very interesting..
- The kettle (which can only be operated when connected to the tray) didn’t have a long enough cord to plug in, so ended up putting on the floor – trip and safety hazard. Bathroom had poor shower curtain that water went everywhere.
- Far from the city center.
- Water all over the bathroom after showering, poorly designed shower. Subsequently slippery bathroom floor.
- No public toilets in hotel, so you need yo go back to your room for facilities.

- The room was unbearably hot with no air conditioning or fan.
- The main entrance door malfunctioned one afternoon, and we had to go all the way around the garden to come in from the back door.

- The location was absolutely gorgeous, although a bit of a walk from the ferry port. It would have been nice to have bikes available to explore the town.
- Great location on the fjord in a valley among the mountains. Free parking, balcony with a wonderful view of the Hardangerfjord and the garden. Comfortable bed. Excellent and tasty breakfasts, thanks to the restaurant staff. Walking distance to the city center of Rosendal with restaurants, shopping center and main attractions
- What really makes this hotel stand out is the beautiful location, and their renowned chef, which made a delicious tree course dinner. Breakfast is also wonderful. That the director of the hotel walked around to make sure all the dinner guests were comfortable made us feel very welcome.
- Friendly service, beautiful restaurant, quiet with beautiful scenery
- Beautifully situated amongst the fjords and hiking trails just up the road made it a great place to stay for a couple of days.
Negative reviews
- The room was a little bit dated, and I think for the price the use of the sauna facilities should have been included.
- There was no air conditioning in the room, it was very hot and stuffy. There was no towel for feet after shower in the bathroom
- Rooms are a bit old-fashioned. Bed is not a proper double bed, it’s 2 single beds put together.
- Rooms are a little tight. Only liquid soap in the bathroom: no conditioner, no body moisturizer, no coffee machine, no refrigerator. Preset dinner, no menue to choose from; our boys ended up eating snacks in a room.
- Our bathroom looked like it had just been redone and it was nice. It had a half glass shield on the shower to keep water from the remaining bathroom area. To keep the water from shooting out, I tilted the shower head towards the wall but unfortunately that made the water ricochet into the entire bathroom in a flood as there was no groove in the floor or anything to keep the water in the shower area. It happened quickly and was A LOT of water. I don't know if our bathroom was just unfinished as my friend's shower stall was configured differently to keep this from happening.
