The Lodge at Bow Lake
9.4/10 (Based on 42 reviews )
Icefields Parkway, T0L 1E0 Lake Louise, Canada
The Lodge at Bow Lake is a small historic alpine lodge set on the shore of Bow Lake along the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park. The property combines restored heritage character with contemporary comforts across a compact number of rooms, cosy common lounges with fireplaces and an on-site dining room that offers an evening four-course menu for overnight guests; a seasonal café serves day visitors. The setting is remote and primarily natural — lakeshore and mountain views rather than a town centre — and visitors should expect limited mobile connectivity. The official property information does not list dedicated on-site electric vehicle chargers; public charging points along the Icefields Parkway exist but are infrequent, and parking is available nearby.

- This was a bucket list trip for me and it didn’t disappoint. Such a cool experience. Amazing place, beautiful people and fabulous food. Snow shoeing across the frozen lake was truly the stuff that dreams are made of. Loved every second
- Location, comfort and an all-inclusive stay. The surrounding area is quiet and absolutely breathtaking. Open fires, indoor heating, modern furnishings and beautiful blankets from Anián ensured warmth and a sense of luxury. The Furo tub was a lovely addition to the Num-Ti-Jah room. Shared meals with limited access to internet meant we made new friends and I had my husband all to myself!
- Location – stunning Lodge – comfortable and unique with wonderful communal areas Food – the best we have had on our 2 week trip to Canada! 4 course dinners were incredible, breakfast was delicious and varied and amazing packed lunches
- Everything about this stay was so good. The food, staff, and location were amazing. Great value!
- Super clean, great food, beautiful location, nicest staff ever!
Negative reviews
- Limited room services with no in-room tea/coffee facilities. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge – perhaps adding some blankets/throws will make the space more inviting.
- The only possible improvement is a slightly bigger bed
- Had to say 4 times that I don't eat bread, felt I wasn't listened to. No water/ coffee in room
- One sitting for dinner and breakfast which meant, when you were last table served, despite being early seated, that you watched other people finish before you received food.
- Lack of Internet, lack of selection of dinner items,

- Great location and beautiful and clean hotel
- The huge hot breakfast was exceptional. A massive variety. Extra details like blueberries and fresh mint on the fruit salad. Teapots for tea drinkers. A 5:00 am breakfast start ideal for early risers like me. The rooms spacious, clean, very cozy beds. Exceptionally friendly staff that appear to like working with each other.
- Beautiful and comfortable
- Loved the pool, loved that Denny’s was attached
- Everything was excellent. Clean well appointed rooms. Extremely friendly staff, nice complementary breakfast with an omelette station. Pool area with waterslide and hot tub extremely clean. A fantastic three nights stay.
Negative reviews
- Second day wi fi was a problem. Could not connect. Requested another bath towel. 2 bath towels per guest is better than 3 bath towels for 2 people. We never received the extra towel.
- There was a carbon monoxide detector plugged in in the living room which started to beep lodly every 2 min at 1 am waking up all of us making our kids cry. The front desk stuff was very helpful to solve it it took and hour for them to figure it out but it was very unpleasent situation. The hot tub was broken during out stay and couldn’t use it unfortunatley and no robes provided.
- That the pool was closed for a time due to some unforseen circumstance and the hot tub jets were not working.
- Only wish that you could open a window instead of needing a noisy air conditioner at night
- If my jacuzzi worked. If my room got cleaned. Ruined my Christmas and my childrens

- This is a unique hotel with lovely hot tub area. The onsite restaurant is very good for dinner. Good underground parking. And early check in on one of our rooms.
- Amazing, friendly and helpful staff. Great hot tub and sauna. Loved the pour over coffee provided.
Negative reviews
- Not the most comfortable beds, and the room was small for 4 people.
- No microwave in the room
- The bed was really hard
- The only thing I didn't like was that the roomdoor wasn't soundproof , so you could hear everything that was said or done in the hallway.
- The restaurant breakfast was disappointing; they messed up one breakfast order; we’d all eaten by the time the replacement meal came out. They missed explaining how to order coffee for our room at check in and missed putting bath robes in one of our two rooms.

- Needed additional staff for breakfast. The extra pillow in the room aggravated my allergies. I was aware it is a dog friendly hotel.
- The bathroom fan was quite noisy.
- Overall, the property is new and modern. Some privacy blinds on the pool/hottub area would be nice as there’s a tim Hortons’ drive-thru outside the full-length windows.

- I liked the ambiance and the cleanliness of the room and lobby area felt welcoming.
- Nice place
- Loved the shower and the overall hotel. It is very nicely decorated, clean and updated. Was a quick trip, didn't use facilities except ate at CHOP, and slept there. Chop was great (like usual), and hotel overall was really nice.
- The room was amazing, bed was super comfy, and very quiet. I will definitely be returning to stay again!
- The building was Nice, Clean, and modern. Enjoyed the Large soaker Tub Room with high 12ft ceilings (on the top floor)The internet wifi was good, one of the Tvs (livingroom) was able to screen share with my phone to get Netflix. The soaker Tub was nice and big perfect for 2.
Negative reviews
- When I was checking out the receptionist didn’t have a pleasant gesture. She just simply pointed to where I should leave the key and nothing else, not even to say please come back again.
- The walkways in rooms were narrow. The pool water was cold and the hot tub was not very warm
- The pillows were aweful and the bed was too soft! Pillows are way too big, even the soft ones were hard to sleep on. We ended up leaving before 6am because we had such a terrible sleep,. I recommend 2 large pillows and 2 smaller ones.
- *For some reason I had a reaction to the bedding, got a weird itchy skin rash. Had to pick up my own sheets and blanket and pillow cases and the itching went away. They say they don't use anything with scents or softeners just Tide. Idk if they use anything else bleach or enzymes etc. I only use Molly Suds at home. It would be nice if they had a hypoallergenic bedding on request option. It would be great if all the TVs were smart had Netflix etc and were Smart View/Screen Mirror option.
- The staff wouldn’t help me I asked for receipt and was told I had to contact booking.com. I contacted booking.con and they told me I needed to contact the property. I contacted the property and they put me on hold for 30 minutes so I hung up the phone.
