- Perfect in every way. The staff were genuinely welcoming and couldn’t do enough. The attention to detail and the quality of fixtures and fittings was second to none. Will be booking for a longer stay in the future.

- Food was, I thought, expensive – London West End prices and though it was very tasty, the restaurant was noisy and didn't feel as expensive as the food was. Just lacked the ambiance that justified the prices. Otherwise no issues.
- Continental breakfast could have been improved with a couple more options: fresh fruit, for example. The rooms were not very well insulated from the corridor and upstairs footfall. A little expensive for a hotel that I would not necessarily consider a destination in itself.
- I didn't quite understand why we couldn't check in to at least one of the rooms a little early given it was so quiet. Also the bacon sandwich was pretty poor quality and it would have been nice to offer breakfast outside given the weather.
- Challenging for tall people . Restaurant not open Monday to Wednesday and no suggestions as to alternatives

- We loved how comfortable, quiet, and peaceful it felt. We loved the breakfast food and the dinner at the barn. Loved the spa, and being able to horseback ride.
- Everything was 10/10. Incredible restaurants, spa, grounds. However what stood out for us was the staff and level of service. They really make you feel that you belong there and that they will go the extra mile to make your stay extra special. It was my wife’s birthday and we felt that the whole time during the stay.

- We liked everything however next time I’d check the location of our room. We were put in Stables room upstairs, if I stayed with my elderly parents they would struggle with stairs. Worth asking in advance.
- The decoration is cold and clinical- not very cosy.
- Pool times for my teenager (nearly 14) were quite limited. Ideally there should be a family swim for ages up to 12 and a more extended window for teenagers.
- Nothing really accommodation in stables near the barn restaurant which was great but far from mansion house and the dining with musicians and singers which would have been great to listen to if we were nearer
- The standard of the room could be better value for money as the room was pretty basic apart from the bathroom which was very lovely. Kids club was a little rundown, could be updated with more books and cleaner toys, more in line with the hotel 5 star standard. The women at kids club were very friendly, but I found that in the Kids club there wasn’t much learning interaction with the kids and it was very chaotic. Swimming was probably for me the most disappointing as some front of house team members not welcoming, only one person greeted us, the other young girl (blonde) walked around with a bad attitude, very miserable and wasn’t showing the spa in a good light. As for swimming, it only had one pool with no Jacuzzi or kids pool and kids having to wait for their turn seems a bit of a disappointment. Other than that, it was fantastic the whole experience.

On a similar, but more substantial vein, we both had the loin of venison for our main course the previous evening. The food was delicious, but if you don't pay an extra £4 for some mashed potatoes, your £24 meal would be the two smallish pieces of venison, an excellent jus and a small spoonful of swede and carrot mash. Hmmm…

- Rooms are not great they are ok but basic and my sink plug was stuck. The bathroom in room 420 needs to be ripped out and replaced. The menus for breakfast state that we will be served toast coffee or tea + a selection of freshly cooked meal options. However , there is a warm and cold buffet and when I entered the room that is what I was told was the breakfast- I then tried the food but it was under cooked and lukewarm so when I complained I was offered a freshly cooked breakfast which I accepted and was then advised I could have ordered this in the beginning!!!

- Fab location, 5 minutes from the racecourse. Easy access parking, staff were so polite and welcoming. The food at the restaurant was fantastic and the hotel Itself was very peaceful and calming! All decor/ furniture was classy, clean and exceptionally comfortable! This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and will definitely be back! Cannot fault the hotel one bit especially since new management have taken over!

- Got a newly furnished room which was lovely but the shower was a mission to get going then only half of the shower head had water coming through not impressed prefer the more simpler shower controls Lots of people were struggling with it
- A few small things such as the phone to call reception couldn't be used until it was sufficiently charged. There was no thermostat in the room so had to call down for an additional space heater. But the staff could not have been more accommodating.
- Pillows too soft !!
- For a family room we didn’t have a fridge for babies milk or a kettle. This would have made our stay more comfortable as baby woke up in the night and didn’t want to risk giving her the milk that had been out all day. Just a small mini fridge in each room, especially family rooms would be ideal for items like this.
- There was work being carried out on the floor above our room. We appreciate the hotel needs to make repairs etc but they started drilling and banging at 7.30am! Reception staff were very apologetic and would have a word with the workman for future guests.

- At about 1am I was woken up in the room by someone walking in. Either it was someone with my key or a member of staff. Was very unsettling especially as my son was with us. I told the front desk and they were sympathetic but haven’t heard anything about why and what happened.
- Annex rooms were by the gym which was quite noisy. Room could do with a lick of paint
- The shower could have been cleaner, and the fan was extremely noisy. (Reported to reception). Ordered breakfast on arrival, but this had not been passed to breakfast staff.
- We ordered TWO breakfasts for the following morning on arrival. When we booked out we were charged for the breakfasts twice. We had time constraints on our travel back and could not pursue the matter at the hotel. I subsequently sent an e-mail requesting a refund and, to date, have not had a reply or a refund. It is very difficult to get in touch with the hotel itself over this matter so I have to resort to this method – not ideal.

- The hotel was immaculate. The room was beautiful and spacious and it has a coffee machine, tea and chocolate cookies which we lovely. The options for activities such as shooting and archery was a bonus. The spa had infrared room but unfortunately I didn't get to use it. The buffet at the Market place was lovely. The live entertainment was a nice added touch and had us singing to some old classics esp Genesis connected.

- Unfortunately, I slipped and fell by the poolside so it spoiled my last day but the staff were checking on me and showed concern. Sadly the didnt provide a service to sing happy birthday yo my partner like my previous spa experiences. I ordered a balloon and chocs for our room but it was kept in the box it was delivered in and I was told they would provide a birthday card for my partner which also wasn't there when we arrived. The lighting in the room isn't great if you need to follow your makeup.I would suggest a adjustable magnifying mirror with a light in the bathroom to help with this.
- I paid for a deluxe room with no water. I requested a room with a balcony and on the ground floor which wasn't given..Doesn't even seem that the requested was given to the hotel.
- We had no shower gel. In the room. It wasn't top up.untill the next morning.. The cleaning lady came in when she wasn't meant too. We had no milk to make tea or coffee. In the room..
- Room was above entertainment could hear it at night as my husband is ill we didn't stay up for all entertainment would of thought it was better soundproofing or would of preferred a quiet room. Plus staff are very reluctant to serve in market dining room if you don't take own drinks in you struggle to get even a water and in live lounge they are not really interested in serving you when you do ask you are a complete nuisance
- I have found the entertainment and the crowds (not the hotel's fault) to vary a lot. Which is completely fine BUT if you're going because you intend to partake in the entertainment, it's just something to check out ahead of time. Again, this is fine! And having been there my second time, I brought my own slippers and flip-flops and someone asked me where I got them – so pack those!
