- We liked everything about the hotel. Superb service and facilities especially the bed… the most comfortable bed! The rooftop bar was also very special.
- Incredibly beautiful hotel, the design of the hotel is absolutely stunning and comfort of the guests is second to none. Service, smiles, cleanliness, the effort that has been put into creating this beautiful hotel is incredible. Beds so comfortable with the most amazing bedlinen. Rooftop pool and the restaurant overlooking the lake was so well considered. It was busy enough but never crowded. We needed the rest bite after travelling for a week through Europe and the hotel offered us everything we needed. Thank you
Negative reviews
- Wine menu on the iPad. We understand the concept but still prefer the ’old fashioned’ paper menu.
- Nothing it was perfect. If I had to be very picky a bit more thought on coffee provisions in the room eg milk, sugar etc Also I have had much better breakfasts at other top hotels so maybe that could be improved.
- Wonderful bar on the 4th floor but limited food selection especially if you stay more than a couple of days
- Only complaint was that cleaning did remove used plates/glass/bottles. Had to call room service to have them come and clean that out. Which they did.
- Rooftop pool was freezing!

- The moorish architecture and historical vila. The location next to the lake and very helpful staff.
Negative reviews
- Music a little too loud at breakfast starting at 08.00 hours and unfortunately most servants in restaurant didn’t speak English , which led to misunderstandings, confusion and long waiting times even for a cup of coffee.
- Noisy aircondition
- Only got chocolate the first night
- no restaurant for Monday and Tuesday.
- A área do chuveiro deixa a desejar para casal de pessoas mais velhas

- First class property and service. Book it!!!!!!!
- Fantastic experience! A big thank you to the entire hotel team. We came as a group of 12 for a one-night party and were truly impressed by the high level of service and the professionalism of the staff. The hotel itself is modern, high-quality, and clearly very well managed. Every detail was carefully considered — everything we requested was arranged perfectly. The team was flexible where possible, especially with early check-in and late check-out. The wine tasting in the cellar was unforgettable! And the location is excellent — just 1.5 hours from central Milan via the autostrad
- Absolute perfection. From the warm, attentive staff who supported us before and throughout our stay, to the beautifully designed hotel with its inspiring art and music collection — everything was exceptional. The Michelin-starred restaurant was a true culinary highlight, and every detail, from the stylish rooms to the serene pool and peaceful surroundings, created a sense of effortless calm. A soulful, refined escape that exceeded all expectation
- Everything! All the experience was prefect. The hotel, the restaurant, the SPA.
- Location excelent New modern small hotel Friendly staff
Negative reviews
- Highest quality of location, service and staff.
- The showers sprinkle into the floor of the bathrooms. Not a big deal, but a simple thing to fix.
- Please see above.

- Nothing
- Breakfast team is not welcoming.
- Breakfast left something to be desired, even the honey came in a plastic refill and there were few options, not what we expect from a relais chateaux hotel
- Too expensive to what it gives. We ordered room service and had to pay extra charge of 15€. Food quality was poor! Dishes were small and not tasty. Breakfast was standard and worth ~600€ a night.

- Every light fitting was unique and all Murano glass.
- This was our 2nd trip to the property. Our son learned to sit down in the hotel when he was tiny so we have a very beautiful memories. Staff are always very friendly and professional. Breakfast is top notch and spa swimming pool is just amazing! We love to return again and again. At the heart of Stresa
- Everything. Fabulous location and Fabulous Hotel. Couldn't fault it xxx
- A real reminder of how a luxury hotel can operate. Wonderful facilities in a well maintained and opulent facility, in a superb lake-front location. The staff were obviously well-trained and were thoroughly professional. Breakfast and dinner were served in the main dining room. Dinner was especially memorable, with excellent meals and a surfeit of attentive staff, impeccably turned out. Our stay was the highlight of a very memorable European holiday. I can’t endorse this beautiful hotel and it’s staff any more highly.
- This hotel is gorgeous, it feels like going back in time
Negative reviews
- Maybe that the curtains in the rooms were always closed and the dark paint colour.
- The only flaw was a family w young kids next door that started screaming every morning at 6 am. The parents didn’t even try to calm them down, they screamed along. I told the front desk that I came on vacation to relax and that couples shouldn’t be placed next to young children. She didn’t try to find a solution, simply said they are leaving in 2 days. Basically endure the discomfort.
- I have no idea why hotels do this, especially when they are not booked and during the off season as in our case. And it puzzles me because I worked for years in large hotels and we always tried to give our customers the best rooms, especially when we had availability We were given a different room type than what we had booked. So instead of double sinks and a large tub we had a small bathroom, one sink and a shower that was hiding behind the door, that was at best 3ft by 3ft. We are not large people but it is nice to start your day without having to squeeze in a tiny shower. We were told that we had been given a front room with lake view instead, but we had the lake view from everywhere, so it did not make that much of a difference to us. Please if you are going to upgrade me give me something extra, don’t take one away to give me another one. We also found the staff to be pretty inattentive at least to us, both at the reception area (you go by and no one says a hello or good morning to you) but particularly at the Hemingway Bar where we went a couple of nights . The place was not at all busy, but no one ever asked us if we wanted another drink (we did) or something else to eat. We had to chase them down to ask them. The eggs at the breakfast were the worse we had eaten in our two weeks traveling in Italy. Runny as if they were prepared with powder.
- small for junior suite
- The wardrobe space was small with limited storage.

- Spa, breakfast, the view, room
- The staff was absolutely amazing—very helpful, friendly, and polite. The grounds are exceptionally well-maintained and thoughtfully designed; I can only imagine how stunning everything must look in the summer. The location itself is beyond beautiful. Even at the end of November, the views were mesmerizing and the weather was sunny. We enjoyed the salt cave, and afterward we were able to sunbathe comfortably outdoors. There was no wind, so relaxing in swimsuits under the sun felt incredibly pleasant.
- Everything is exceptional !
- Beautiful location and the amenities are excellent. It surpassed our expectations ! Truffle hunting with Michele was an amazing experience to top it off. Cannot wait to go back!
- Breakfast and dinners at the bistro were very good. Staff was very friendly, professional and attentive. The maitre d'hotel Simo was always present to ensure all run very smoothly. He certainly brings a touch of warmth as his passion for hospitality transpires.
Negative reviews
- The main Restaurant
- We booked at the Michelin 1 star at the hotel but they could not cater for the vegetarian in our party despite being prewarned of the need when the booking was made 2 months earlier. Chef would not or could not make an accommodation fortunately alternative eateries were available within the hotel.
- The restaurant Guido. It was the worst meal we’ve ever had at a Michelin starred restaurant. Food was poorly prepared, the service was pedestrian and the prices were very high. We ate at the other restaurant at the hotel our second night, and it was superior on every level and detail.
- Il servizio ristorazione un po’ lento
- The shower in the monastery room was tight

- Loved the fresh air and the walk around the property.
- There was a good variety of food to choose from for breakfast. The grounds were amazing to explore. We experienced dinner in both restaurants and were happy with the choice and quality of the food. Staff were very helpful arranging taxis and places to explore.
- Staff, house, the park, the castle. All amazing.
- Exceptional in all respects. Staff went out of their way to accommodate our group which arrived late at night, upgrading and relocating rooms to make it more convenient for all. Beautiful breakfast.
- The grounds are beautiful and well maintained .
Negative reviews
- Our room had a small green light just opposite the bed in the ceiling that shone in my eyes all night. Hardly had any sleep. Definitely was unpleasant. But room was really lovely
- We were not informed upon making a reservation for dinner that the main restaurant was not available to us for dinner. We were shuffled off to another room with no ambience, no windows and the service was terrible. Plus, it was very expensive for the quality of service we received.
- The room was quite small, but it was dual aspect with nice views.
- Small toilet
- The property is in renovation. The staff is not responsive, not well-informed and absolutely unpleasant. The spa is not working. Access is horrible. It’s not a five star hotel and avoid staying there at any cost!

- This resort is a fantastic place to relax and recharge. Beautiful setting in the nature with outstanding views from every corner, great staff, large rooms, delicious food and best of all the spa facilities. The indoor pool and hot-tub with multiple massage options, sauna and different showers, snow, perfect set up to recharge and rejuvenate. Spa staff is wonderful with terrific therapists. We had several massages and enjoyed all of them. We were staying with our 8 year old son and the staff was so sweet to bring a little teddy bear and flip/flop, slippers set and candies for him as well. Just the sweetest gesture. We are going to miss this place and will be sure to come back!
- Modern, comfortable and spacious rooms. Great pool and SPA. Fantastic breakfast. Sublime restaurant.

Negative reviews
- 🙂 500 euro plus by night and requesting 10 euro for an omlete at breakfast is not nice !!
- The room was good and had a great view across the vineyards, but our balcony had a solid wall (you could only see over it when standing up, and the tv was placed in the middle of the room and we were unable to fully appreciate the lovely setting
- Its not easily accessible without a car.
- Smoking should not be permitted inside the hotel or restaurant. There's nothing worse than going for breakfast and being assaulted by cigarette smoke.
- Breakfast a bit disappointed and can be improved with wider choices of cakes , bread, jams and maybe with fresh squeeze juice

- Amazing view of Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatori. Delicious fresh breakfast buffet. Staff extremely attentive throughout our stay.
- The balcony with the vue. The fine dining restaurant with it's Foie Gras were out of this world.
- We had a beautiful room at the Palazzo overlooking Lake Maggiore. The design of the whole hotel was fabulous and everything we ate – breakfast, dinner, snacks – were all amazing. Expensive but worth it!
- There are not enough superlatives for this hotel. We LOVED it. If you want to feel like royalty, this is the place for you. Stunning location, wonderful staff who cannot do enough to help you, excellent service throughout. Wonderful pool, with plenty of sun loungers. Food was amazing, The dinner experience was one to remember forever. I think you get the drift!! We would love to stay here on a regular basis. Now my most favourite hotel in the world.
- Breakfast was great.Very good selection of fruits and cheese and everything else.
Negative reviews
- we were billed for another rooms charge. i am currently working with the manager to settle this issue
- The pool was always crowded with limited shade so we unfortunately didn’t get to use it.
- Our room was fairly small and there was a lack of privacy on the balcony owing to the insubstantial, but pretty dividing screens. The steam room was not hot and nor was the jacuzzzi. The road is noisy and you only notice this when you are by the pool or trying to cross it. More could be made of the lakeside area….could do with a pool there as well maybe.
- The walk into Stresa was via a busy winding road without a footpath.
- Not good value expensive
