- This is almost the very best hotel we have stayed in. Design excellent staff wonderful and great amenities.
- The deluxe room the pools the gym the breakfast
- Truly outstanding- just my kind of hotel
Negative reviews
- Another restaurant or taverna in grounds would have been good
- Location
- They could have invited guests to see the olive harvest – my husband was fascinated by it and we think an opportunity missed
- The food in the restaurant was fantastic and of a very high quality, however we thought slightly over priced
- The restaurant on site was absurdly expensive – €30 for a cocktail, €38 for a burger. As a result, we decided to dine elsewhere during our stay. Breakfast was includes and it was OK, but not exceptional as compared to other high end properties.

- Everything is amazing in this hotel, super nice decoration and maintenance of the rooms and facilities.
- Memorable stay for a perfect holiday. The ambience is great. The dining experience was great too. The staff are very very nice people. Free valet parking, free shuttle van to town centre. Nice interior design, have blended in the Sicily heritage with a modern touch. Amazing
- Breakfast was amazing; Gabriella was wonderful. The pool was lovely. The valet and shuttle staff were very helpful and accomodating. Gabriel at the pool was also fantastic.
- Great location Amazing staff
- Everything about this hotel exudes class and elegance and all delivered with exceptionally professional, helpful and genuinely friendly staff. From start to finish we were made to feel truly welcome and valued. We relaxed by the beautiful pool overlooking the bay, enjoyed the delicious breakfast and enjoyed cocktail hour at the bar with lovely ambience and decor. The room was styled beautifully with classical modern elegance; easy to use, effective and cosy lighting; very comfortable bed and linen and a fall range of thoughtful amenities and extras such as a beach bag and daily stocked free (non alcohol) minibar. We also had an incredible culinary experience at the 4-table only fine dining restaurant BATU which is an experience not to be missed! This is a fully immersive experience in which every team member plays a key role to deliver something unique. Virginia at guest services went over and beyond to help organise transfers, specialist tours and dining experiences. The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk from the main drag, but the hotel organises transfers in case you don't feel like the walk. The hotel also organises beach club access for a minimum fee should you wish to have a day at the beach. We will be back for sure. Thank you for looking after us so well.
Negative reviews
- It is quite expensive, we stayed for our wedding weekend, so it was an special occasion
- There was a lot of staff for the amount of guests so there was a lot of “fussing” during breakfast. We asked the concierge for restaurant recommendations as we were meeting friends for dinner but the staff kept recommending the hotel restaurant and offered no other options.
- Little bit pricy
- Restaurant overpriced and should be better. Wines very overpriced- beware!
- The Premium Deluxe Terrace Room could have been a bit more spacious, but the view made up for it!

- Staff was very friendly, the room and bathroom were big, the pool was lovely. It was quiet and peaceful, no noise at night, as there not many people staying (mid October). Parking was easy.
- Nice hotel
- Hotel is beautiful, breakfast is wow, really great, staff is very nice, they know how to take care. Spa area is very nice, Ms. Chiara gave me a very nice facial. They have a garden, so if you eat there for dinner, you will be able to enjoy pumpkins, eggplants, herbs, tomatoes etc. directly from this garden. Two pools: one for swimmers, one for kids. Everything is clean, they use sheets on the bed, very comfy good beds.
- Friendly and helpful staff – nothing was too much trouble
- It was an oasis. The hotel, staff, facilities and food were amazing
Negative reviews
- There is no place to have dinner close by, so it was a always a drive to Syracuse, 15 minutes, even if we just wanted a small meal. The restaurant only provides fine dining, which is not what you want every day. The spa with sauna, steam bath and whirl pool costs extra, 45 Euro per person, which was not indicated on the website. This should be inclusive.
- We should have checked how far out of the town this hotel was. Taxi ride each way was 35..40 euros. Not much going on at the hotel. It's in large, well kept gardens and has the feel of a converted large home rather than a modern conventional hotel.
- Lack of shuttle bus to main town and excursions. Expectation would be that main attractions would be catered for eg Mount Etna
- Lots of mosquitoes- take some repellent!
- Dinner was just ok

- The property was true to the description very clean and staff very nice
- I had a short stay here and really enjoyed it. The place was spotless, in a quiet area yet very close to Marina and all the restaurants. Great view, plenty of amenities, and the host is truly a wonderful person. Highly recommended!
- We stayed here with friends, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Salvatore, the owner, is an outstanding host who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to return.
- Impeccably clean and hygienic. Practically everything is fresh and new. Very comfortable and accessible with great views and pool area.
Negative reviews
- If you do not have a car it will be a challenge to commute to the marina
- No transport to the beach.

- The location cannot be beat. The view of the temple makes it a very special place to stay.
- Fabulous location mere minutes away from the two best-preserved temples. The restaurant is excellent, serving creative dishes and providing superlative service. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. The gardens are a treasure even on a drizzly day.
- Location is great to visit the temples and super comfortable with great service
- Wonderful location within the valley of the temples. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. A very comfortable place to stay.
- So close to the temples, lovely restaurant- food great and service fantastic. Room was comfortable, clean and good size
Negative reviews
- It was a bit pricey but the view makes it worth it.
- Whilst restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient, dinner food was tasteless. Crockery and glasses were worn and marked. Dinner service did not live up to standard of the hotel.
- certain areas look a bit tired and the restaurant (albeit serving excellent food) could be nicer and less clinical. There are also no slippers in the room which is strange for a hotel of this Calibre.
- Annoyingly, the outdoor furniture was constantly wet — the upholstery holds water and never dried out during our two-day stay. Our room had a charming terrace with a view of the Temple Concordia, but we couldn’t use it because the seat cushions were always water sodden. No point in getting a terrace if you can’t use it. 🙁
- Bathroom didn’t have a proper door. There is a glass partition between the bedroom and the bathroom. The partition is frosted glass around the toilet and transparent glass around the rest of the bathroom. There is no sound or visual privacy.

- Everything , this hotel is amazing, food is delicious and staff very helpful
- Warm indoor pool was definitely the plus when travelling with a small child. Well organized place, huge variety for selection of food for breakfast. Very clean room.
- It was a beautiful hotel and we loved our stay overall; amazing wellness center, huge pools outdoor and indoor and a great kids playroom, playground, trampoline. Friendly, attentive staff. Great breakfast choices. Was very quiet due to it being off season (mid October). We stayed in a family room with a mezzanine (2 adults, 2 kids aged 8 and 6).
- We arrived at Principe di Fitalia after a terrible experience at an Airbnb-equivalent apartment in Taormina, feeling jaded and disappointed. Santino, Mary, Maurizio, Michele, Roberta, Rosa, Vincenzo, and the entire team completely turned things around. Their genuine smiles, attentive service, and constant warmth transformed what started as a “lemon” of a trip into pure Limoncello. Syracuse itself is a wonderful destination — full of history, culture, and charm. It’s a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of Taormina, offering a chance to truly experience Sicilian life, people, and love. Amazing staff, amazing hospitality — they made our stay unforgettable.
- Lovely and spacious, attentive staff and a lovely spa
Negative reviews
- Expensive food and drinks in the hotel. Good quality but perhaps a little overpriced. Just to note that the location is good, close to siracusa (with a free shuttle) but no amenities in the immediate area within walking distance.
- The only thing we didn't like were the pillows, we would prefer if they would be softer. Otherwise the room was great, including the bathroom.
- 40 euro in a taxi to Siracussa
- Je me suis baignée pendant une heure dans la piscine du spa. Résultat : BRULURES A l'ACIDE!
- The food is poorly made, ingredients might be fresh, but overall its below standard. Chicken nuggets – burned to the hardness of the stone, meat balls like chewing gum, hair in the brakfast omelette – really should work on food.

- The extremely friendly staff that wanted to fulfill your every wish. The bikes to get around the resort. Spa services.
- A beautiful 5 Star resort, staff and all facilities excellent!
- Our stay was outstanding . The staff was impressively good, the food was excellent and the rooms were beautifully appointed. I cannot fault the resort. It is a truly 5 star hotel.
- Very nice Golf Resort. Quiet and well managed. Excellent Spa. Scenic Golf Course.
- Excellent location ,serenity and peaceful atmosphere
Negative reviews
- The rooms were far overpriced. Refurbishment is long overdue. There was no response to our wish to book a teetime in advance. Obliged gratuity in all restaurants and hotelbills.
- Organization of the service was not due to our expectation
- restaurants hugely overpriced, overall 50% more expensive than best Club Med locations (eg Cefalu) and certainly not 50% better, food average except for breakfast which was excellent and great service, beach is disappointing and no sand on shore only rocks. this should be made clear in presentation and recommend to bring beach shoes; tennis courts a long wxay from accommodation, extra cost of all facilities like tennis, no club events (like friendly football, tennis or ping pong tournaments, shows, etc.); no ping pong table near pool/beach; overpriced excursions (resort quoted 300€ for a taxi to and from Agragento whereas direct taxi quoted €200….).
- Inside room maintainence issues:1. Fallen screen precluded access into balcony. 2. Discolored main faucet in bathroom. 3. Discolored countertops. 4. Above bathroom mirror light for which we called maintainence . 5. Really bad service in their cafe dining with inordinately long wait for a pizza, so much so that they deleted the pizza charge. Also, the pizza lacked all ingredients listed for that dish. Additionally it was Undercooked.

- property is fabulous, service was impeccable and very friendly. Restaurant was amazing for dinner, although breakfast was just ok. Wish we had more time to explore the property and do some activities (wine tasting, horse back riding, etc.) Very pleased, would love to be back.
- This was our favorite property during our 3 weeks trip. Simply stunning property with truly an amazing staff. We were generously upgraded at check-in. Dinner in the restaurant was 5 stars, and Roberto was fun to share wine knowledge with us. We were in a Villa, which was one of the most beautiful rooms Ive ever stayed in.
- Monaci delle Terre Nere is the kind of place you remember long after you’ve left. Set on the slopes of Etna, the estate blends organic farming, refined design, and heartfelt Sicilian hospitality. Our room was spacious and serene, with lava-stone details, crisp linens, and views over citrus groves and the sea. Breakfast was outstanding—seasonal fruit, homemade cakes, local cheeses and honey—everything tasted genuinely fresh. Dinner at the on-site restaurant was a highlight: elegant but not fussy, with a superb Sicilian wine selection and staff who guided us perfectly. Throughout our stay, the team went out of their way to help with tastings and day trips; nothing felt scripted, just warm and effortless. The grounds are expansive and beautifully kept, perfect for slow morning walks or sunset cocktails. If you’re looking for a place that captures the essence of Etna—nature, flavor, and quiet luxury—this is it. We left rested, inspired, and already planning our return.
- The breakfast was excellent. The location not easy to find especially if you are there for the first time. The staff is well trained, kind and ready and eager to go the extra mile to please you. Marzia received us and she is the milk of human kindness. Fabrizio in the bar is a genius of cocktails. Sonia the massagist is first class and very experienced. Chiara in the restaurant is excellent
- Stunning location, exceptional level of service from all of the staff, incredible food and drinks. Absolutely flawless.
Negative reviews
- The hotel is about 20-30 min by car from the city, so the driving back and forth in traffic was about annoying. If you want to mainly explore the city, this is probably not the place, but if you want to unwind and relax-definitely recommend it!
- The food
- Some of the in-room facilities could be improved. The hot tub wasn’t the easiest to use, was a little noisy, and didn’t heat up quite enough. The “private” pool is actually shared between three rooms – though still spacious, very pleasant, and large enough for proper laps. (If you’re expecting a pool entirely to yourself, it’s worth double-checking before booking.)
- Aircon didn’t work that well, room got quite hot in the night. Excursion price list was very expensive, food at pool was good but again, not really anything available for less than €30. Not enough drinking water in the room, or at the pool.
- breakfast was not great. wasps in the meats, lacked variety. was the worst buffet of our 25 day stay in Sicily.

- Perfect. From the welcome to the room to the pool and the close by restaurant. Everything was great. The bed was comfy. The view from the window is nice. The bathroom is big and clean. Breakfast was great too. Thank you.
- The views across the salt pans towards the Egadi islands. The good memory of the waitress at breakfast. Comfortable bed. Good shower and towels. Excellent restaurant was only 200m away. The pool that included shady areas too.
- Great breakfast and great pool area. Unique location by the salt flats and friendly staff.
- Wonderful location, beautiful oasis with sunsets surrounded by nature and the views of the salt pans of Trapani.
- Very friendly & welcoming staff – only too happy to help. The swimming pool was lovely and we were lucky to have use of it to ourselves for a while until over guests arrived/returned. Our room was great, and we particularly enjoyed the use of the terrace (including hot tub). Breakfast was lovely, fresh, with a wide selection of produce.
Negative reviews
- The hotel was a bit further from the nearest villages, and taxi from Trapani was more expensive than at first thought. For us, two days could have been enough, there's nothing in the area except the Salines.
- The dusty car park and road but that couldn't be helped. No area for drying costumes and towels after a swim. No kettle or coffee machine in the room.
- They ran out of breakfast items and didn't replace despite half hour left of breakfast time
- Didn't have stable wifi throughout some parts of the property
- Just a bit tired and run-down . Staff seem miserable and not very helpful. They did reduce the number of ants in our bathroom . There should be great views to the salt flats and the sea but a 1m hedge surrounding the grounds means you have to stand up to enjoy the view.
