- Good accommodation for those who want a central, quiet accommodation in Trosa. The hotel is just as suitable for sleeping a few nights as for a week. Stayed here on several occasions. A cozy hotel with good food and breakfast. High level of service from the staff. This time it was the suite as we like the large balcony and the bedroom one floor up. Pros: Location. Hotel environment in the lobby. Free parking. Good food in the restaurant. Good breakfast. Well-cleaned rooms. Cool in the room.
- Amazing decor and attention to detail, such a fun place
- EVERYTHING! What a lovely, hip spot. The staff was super helpful, accommodating and friendly! They upgraded me to The Rolling Stones suite which was AMAZING! What a TUB! Every detail was exquisite and refined. I just LOVED IT!
- The special and unique makes the hotel special ans unique – a strong recommendation
- Great style, very comfortable bed, great location, very good breakfast though somewhat limited options
Negative reviews
- No refrigerator. The outdoor furniture is broken. Smoking area under the balcony Check carefully where you park, some places are private.
- Kind of soft bed, we kind of rolled to the middle…..
- The bathroom is quite small, they lack necessities like just a small toothpaste,a toothbrush and a comb, but they have hair dryer, nice lightings. The hallway is a bit dim that lacks some light.
- They only had lactose free milk for breakfast. Not everybody has an intolerance and I don’t understand why everyone has to drink that highly processed milk?
- During the entire stay we were unfortunately constantly harassed and controlled by one of employees (older woman with brown/red hair wearing glasses most of the time on the top of her head). She regularly checked on us to see what we did and if we (group of 3 ppl mid/end-30ies) actually stayed in the hotel which is ridiculous as the hotel is really small. Her tone towards us was constantly rude and agressive. The rest of the staff were generally okay besides the also quiet unfriendly waiter at the bar. The behavior of the employee must have been known to the hotel management as an apology came immediately without us having to clarify who this person was when we complained during check-out. Due to this we would definitely not choose this hotel again as we felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome for the entire three days. We think a hotel of this standard should not have employees of this low quality and with this kind of bad behaviour towards guests! Furthee minor negative points: -no sauna/spa option -badly organised waiters during breakfast- one day cappucino is availalable, the next day not, the next day only if you pay extra/ same for fruits

- Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We celebrated our anniversary there and couldn't have been more happy. They upgraded us to a lovely room with views of the river and helped with champagne in the room. Excellent parking just behind the hotel as well.
- One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. The beds were really comfy. Parking was available. Would highly recommend. The hotel was exceptionally clean, the food was really good and the Fika was an added bonus. Lovely welcome, spoke in English, hope we get to stay again one day.
- Nice location in the centre of Eskilstuna. Close to the museums, Bolinder-Munktell, Art museum and the city museum. Spacious bar where also dinner was served. Breakfast excellent. Friendly personnell and easy to find parking place around the corner.
- A wonderful old building modernised sympathetically and set on the waters edge. The food was wonderful, the room spotless with dog bowls provided for our pet. The staff were both very friendly and helpful. We will be back.
Negative reviews
- The garage was expensive My room window didn’t fixed probably so I had to cover frizzing wind coming inside by some pillows. Btw, I could manage it👍
- Only paid parking spots.
- Breakfast choice was a bit limited in comparison to other hotels
- No bar!
- Would have liked the room serviced at least once during my 5 night stay. This may have been an option so not really a complaint.

- Breakfast and dinner were very good, staff is extremely helpful and nice. Room and bathroom were clean. I recommend to pay a little extra money for a river view room!
- I loved staying there. I slept very well, it was cosy and relaxed and I liked that breakfast and dinner were included in my stay. Loved the garden as well.
- Probably the most comfortable bed i ever slept in in a hotel room. Bed, madrasses, duvet, pillows and bedlinnen of highest quality, better than home! Room was quiet and cosy! Very friendly and welcoming staff. Really good breakfast with big assortment and fresh items. I definitely will stay here again!
- The view, the food.

Negative reviews
- The room and bedding were very warm.

- A traditional Swedish buffet breakfast met my needs. Staff were friendly and efficient. Pool and gym access, including a robe and slippers, was included in the nightly rate. Restaurant service was good and food was great, albeit with a limited menu in winter. The spa (extra cost) was well set up.
- Potable tap water, long swimming pool, helpful Staff.
- Clean, good internet, delicious breakfast. Iron in the room. Receptionist were very friendly.
- Great gym facilities, available free parking, nice hotel in general, good service, pretty good breakfast, comfortable beds, good darkening curtains.
- The staff were very welcoming and the dinner at the restaurant was delicious. The rituals products were also a nice touch.
Negative reviews
- No tea making facilities available for hotel guests. Coffee was available until 6pm in the gym/spa lounge. It’s close to the rail station, but pedestrian access is via stairs over the rail line. Perilous when icy. Beds and pillows were adequate but I’d expected more from a 4-star hotel. In-room heating was barely adequate in sub-zero temperatures.
- The bed is uncomfortable, too soft. The water in the pool is cold.
- We booked this hotel because of its pool and spa. But it was closed during our entire stay, and we did not receive a word about it… nor reduced price.
- No kettle in the room as I love to drink a cup of coffee early in the morning.
- It was unbearably hot weather, and the rooms have no AC. With only one small fan, and being told to just open the windows in the room, it was disappointing.

- Great SPA facility. Clean and nice rooms, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff.
- The rooms was nice and spacious Decent breakfast Very helpful staff
- Spa was great, we have enjoyed it a lot. Staff was more than helpfull and wellcoming. Room comfortable and spatious. Breakfast was very good, as well. There is also a fun area with few games such as table soccer, billiar etc .. great to spend some time there with kids. And hotel is very close to the airport, less than 10 minutes drive, which is very convenient.
- Breakfast was superb and very varied. Hot and cold options. Healthy choices. We didn't eat dinner there. Pool/Spa was lovely, good sized sauna, would have preferred it to be part of the cost of the stay but it was nice all the same. Facilities other than the spa were good, table football, shuffle board and other games. And the Padel court was good for some foot tennis. We were in a the newer part of the hotel. The family room was a good size without being huge, it had a quiet air-con and so was comfortable all the time. Sofa turned into a bunk bed, very exciting for the youngest. And the bathroom was a wet room.
- Location is perfect for people like me who hate bustling city life. The hotel has everything that you might need for your trip: restaurant, bar, swimming pool / spa, even family games and cozy garden. The room is spacious and clean. We visited during the heat wave and it was a bit hot in the night like in any old Swedish building not intended for extreme summers. But the lady at the reception helped us with fans so it was fine. Also the hotel has an amazing patch of the forest and a "quiz" that you can unravel during your refreshing walk into the nature (ask more at the reception, there are even prizes for it! Sadly, we discovered it too late right before departure). Great hotel!
Negative reviews
- Personally, Pillows are a bit high for me.
- It is a bit far from the village if you do not come by car. Also, dinner was not an option unless prebooked. Kind suggestion to switch correspondance on Booking into english.
- Not a lot to moan about. TV in the room only plays Swedish channels, not that we were there to watch TV. Having to pay for the spa. No real big complaints about the stay. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Maybe some might find it a bit dated but it was better than the newer hotel we stayed in later on in our trip.
- The highway is close. The sofa and pillows were not 100% clean. I did not like the message, before we even arrived, that we should give 10 out of 10 to this hotel. I think it makes more sense to provide some extra things (e.g. free complimentary access to spa or discount for a room) if you want 10 out of 10. For 160 eur per night I expect more clean room.
- The rats running around out near the seating areas near the restaurant.

- Friendly and helpful staff, clean, very comfortable bed.
- We had a comfortable clean room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very varied catering for all tastes.
- Great reception, in which the two kids received a small goodie bag, which was needed after a long trip. Also, they had a small table with drawing utilities close to the entrance of the hotel. Nice location in the downtown of Eskilstuna, close to parks, museums and water. The breakfast was nice as well, in which the kids had their own small buffet table, to our kids delight.
- Central location, near river and restaurants.
Negative reviews
- The breakfast items were a little cold, so I did not have them again and choose to have something else
- Room was small and there is hardly enough space to open your luggage. There was no table or anything to put your little papers, keys and other things. During the night we could here the noise from the restaurant behind our window.
- Breakfast was not so good, not fresh, but not very bad.
- The stairs for the room is very difficult with the luggage.
- Room above a night club

- Historic building Nice, central location
- Nice hotel, cosy, familial, quiet, nearby the Castle, beautiful view, good food, nice peoples
- Beautiful and full of character. Friendly and helpful receptionist.
- We loved our stay at the Gripsholms Värdshus. It is a charming collection of old buildings (almost like a tiny village) with a really lovely feel and atmosphere. We had a lake view room, though the trees were quite large and not much of a view – but that did not matter as we were keen to explore the charming village of Mariefred. The hotel has a huge outdoor garden and we were able to enjoy the multiple areas of the outdoor lounge and bar. The position of the hotel could not be better – right in the heart of Mariefred, on the edge of a fjord and overlooking the amazing castle (definitely worth a visit). Overall, a lovely stay and would recommend it.
- The location overlooking the water at the castle was wonderful. The room was comfortable and bathroom and shower were very modern. Restaurant is very nice but pricey (most likely because of location). Breakfast was good.
Negative reviews
- Kitchen smell via airconditioning Expensive
- Unavailability of tea and coffee in the rooms. There was an area to help yourself, but nothing was there until 8.00 when breakfast was available anyway. We arrived on Sunday and it was as if the place shut down until 8 on Monday morning. Very dark breakfast room lit by candlelight only. Unfriendly breakfast staff.
- Level of service varying from good to bad. Hotel had a lot of young trainees which were not properly orientated to their jobs. Food at the restaurant was expensive and the quality of it at best only ordinary. The Classic Hamburger was a big disappointment and not even close worth the cost of 27,- euros. Deep cleaning of the nice bathroom could be a good iedea. This is nice but rather expensive place. You should get better with that money.
- A few issues: – the rooms were renovated a long time ago so the bathrooms are tired and the grout on the floor and wall are mouldy. Could do with a deep clean. The shower curtains should be replaced more often. – the breakfast buffet was OK but not as good as other hotels we had stayed in during our trip. Of particular annoyance was the fact that they do not offer normal milk – only soy, oat and lactose free. Even other Swedish guests were surprised! – for the price and size of the room, we were surprised that there was no bar fridge or tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
- There was no air conditioning. We travelled late spring and it was quite warm so needed the windows open and the fan which was provided.

- Beautiful location and very charming old building
- Authentic hotel with character and green spaces. Breakfast was great with seating in a lovely setting.
- Breakfast was simple and nice. This is not a 5 star hotel. But it did have a rustic charm which was refreshing.
- Great breakfast! Loved the waffles! The surroundings were nice with a a garden and nature areas near by. It was nice to be able to walk to the small town of Malmköping.
- Atmosphere, breakfast, friendly staff.
Negative reviews
- Breakfast room a little small . Got slightly congested.
- The facilities are a bit worn and could need a face lift. Especially some areas could be better organised.
- Toilet area after taking shower wet. The bathroom sink seemed not fixed well to the wall anymore. The rod for shower curtain missed one fixing point at corner. Therefore the construction was not strong anymore and inclined.
- The shower was in need of a renovation. We would have liked some more coffee and tea bags as well as some milk in the room. The cleaning staff was not able to organise some supplies for the room. A bit weak we thought.
- The actual hotel looks bit worn out and in need of some repairs. Lovely old building needs to be kept that way. The step into the green cottage where we stayed is too high on the last one and maybe a warning sign would be good as I nearly put my knee out every time I went in there. If older people would to use this cottage then I assure there would be accidents.
