- Hotel was lovely great staff so helpful bar staff were fantastic a lovely singer in bar which was fantastic also
- Lovely spa facilities despite not all being open at the time of our visit. Amazing staff at bar and in restaurant. Great racecourse view in our room with balcony.
- Room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of choice of tea, coffee etc… Bed was fabulous, slept very well. The view from the room was amazing. Breakfast was more than expected, plenty of choice and more.
- Friendly and helpful staff, spacious room and a very comfortable bed! Spa is excellent as well.
Negative reviews
- Breakfast was expensive
- The pool, sauna and steam whilst nice in need of a bit of TLC but still good
- The showers in some rooms could do with a deep clean and maintenance – some have mould in the silicon seals and the grout is often a little grubby. Some fittings are a bit loose.
- Bathroom could have been a bit bigger but as with lots of hotels we’ve been to this seems to be the norm. This is structural and nothing the hotel can change. Just an observation. Bathroom was immaculate and the shower was lovely. Towels were lovely and white and soft. Shampoo etc… were well provided.
- Food of an evening not great and very expensive for what you get

- The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent quality with loads of choice. Location was excellent too.
- Location is ok. Bed is comfy. Soundproofing for walls. Good toiletries. Power shower.
- Well stocked supplies
- Nice, clean accommodation in an ideal location. Plenty of parking nearby (chargeable). Friendly staff.
- I was upgraded to Executive Room. Lovely staff. Nice food ibuprofen the evening. Breakfast was average in quality and cooked items ran out.
Negative reviews
- The bathroom in the room was really small.
- I phoned to book parking but they said they had no recollection of my having booked a parking place. It seemed as though they didn’t believe me and begrudgingly let me through to the parking area. Toilet had mould or something brown at the back of the pan. Went to breakfast at 10.15 as we’d been told it went on until 10.30 but were denied it. Bedding was quite dusty and one pillow case had a mark across it. Tap in bathroom only gave out very hot water unless you ran it for a while.
- The stairs! Have a bad hip and this wasn't clear on the booking
- We were in room 52 in the old coach house. Our room was small but cozy, nice and modern and very clean. However being in a separate part of the hotel in the car park it was very light with all the hotel lights shining out the front. Also there was a big car park light shining virtually in our window all night. The curtains didn’t really black it out too much. Also as the building is converted it was very noisy. There didn’t appear to be double glazing so the traffic and people passing were noisy as was the building itself- creaky stairs, floorboards, thin walls (we could hear someone snoring in the room downstairs). Didn’t make for a particularly restful nights sleep to be honest. Guess it depends on how lightly you sleep but these things are important to me. The hotel itself is nice and I would stay again for the convenient location but I would want to be in the main hotel which I presume would be darker and more quiet for sleeping.
- A little tired in places Car park pretty tight

- The overall experience and feel of the hotel and staff was welcoming. All areas of the hotel was very well maintain, the gardens were wonderfully set out and wish our stay was spring o summer to take advantage of the setting.
- staff always friendly and helpful
- Best breakfast ever in a hotel!
- Smart and classy without being elitist or snobby. Professional yet friendly staff.
- The room was very nice, aesthetic, clean and neat . With a beautiful view . We love the different dining rooms, specially we have a lovely time at the one with the fire place . The food was very good and the service excellent. All the staff were excellent, always willing to help . We had a lovely stay.
Negative reviews
- I was very disappointed to pay an extra £5.00 per night for car parking. The car park was private to the hotel and after paying £350.00 plus to 2x nights, I felt this payment was a greedy additional payment by Management. I do not expect to pay for hotels private carparks. This is particularly due there was no added security EG: Entry/Exit barriers, Security cameras etc…
- rooms too hot! stayed at this hotel a number of times, the staff are its biggest asset, what lets it down is the amount of time it takes to book in, you need to change or update your system
- Charge for the carpark (my colleagues weren’t charged) and slow check in – I want the hotel room card to be ready and not have to provide my card number when I have already pre-paid….i don’t want to stand for five minutes faffing When returning to hotel after a night out to be told I can’t have a glass of wine with a friend in the bar and I must take it to my room. To then be told ok, I’ll let you as someone else is drinking in the bar area – I’m not a child!!!
- My room backed out onto some sort of generator, which was noisy and kept me awake
- Breakfast on Sunday finished at 10.30 Surely should be later on Sundays On check in Reception lady said anything you find you are missing or need please contact us- asked for a shower cap and told “we don’t provide those”. On entering our room phone call from same reception lady asking if all ok with room and that if we needed something just jet them know ?? …….

- Location and was comfortable with good food
- Very close to the airport. It's comfortable staff friendly and efficient.
- Lovely room and location. Booked a function there and really liked the orangery room. Louise the events organiser was lovely and really helpful
- Close convenient location to Gatwick airport, impressive value for money and exceptional cleanliness of room.
Negative reviews
- No hot water for a shower in the morning before we were flying. 😔
- The very small windows and small bathroom. No minibar available, would have been a good addition. Old fashioned telephone did not work until next morning.
- Head of bed in line with door. This meant could hear all activity outside. Room very near to reception so was woken very early by voices and someone hoovering!
- The elevator was out of order which made it difficult to transfer the large amount of luggage we had. To be fair, on arrival, the staff were very helpful in assisting with the luggage upstairs to the room.
- The car park. It was dark when I arrived. It was raining and the car park was muddy in places. I appreciate after the bad weather we have had there will be puddles, but it could do with a resurface. Pulling a case through it wasn’t ideal.

- Lighting in my room was very dim.. assume it's an energy saving approach. Didn't help that one light wasn't working at all.
- Directions from coach drop off could be clearer.
- The drain in the shower had been pulled out and it looked dirty
- Both minor things but left an impression. Tea/coffee facilities were provided in the room but no biscuits. Shower tray needed cleaning, didn’t look very good.
- The receptionist was quite curt and the staff in the Yokozuna restaurant were really moody and rude

- Stylish and luxurious, beautiful grounds and stunning food. Service was excellent and the rooms are absolutely gorgeous. Well worth it for a special occasion.
- I loved the hotel and the room. The breakfast was amazing and overall, it was a brilliant stay where I felt looked after. Thank you
- For luxury (at a price) you cannot beat Great Fosters. We knew it was going to be a fantastic stay and had high expectations which on the whole were met. Our meal at the Tudor Pass restaurant was stunning and the service in the hotel is out of this world. The bed in our room was super comfortable – bath and shower fabulous and the decor is a great example of taking a box (room in the coach house) and making it feel cared for and thought out. Simple but with careful twists.
- We had a lovely stay for our anniversary at the Great Fosters. Especially our meal at The Tudor Pass exceeded our expectations.
- This is a lovely hotel and well situated for Heathrow, Windsor or day trips to London. The staff are really friendly. And it has a very rare thing – a warm outdoor pool in the UK,
Negative reviews
- The outdoor pool which looked fab wasn’t open.
- COST It's the cost really. I felt as if I was being charged just to breathe in the luxury and I don't think it needs to be that. It is a Michelin starred restaurant and as such you expect elevated prices and I cannot fault the food or service but I had thought there was an option for the shorter courses menu. I have eaten long course lunches here before so didn;t relaly need the signature taster menu- in the end we were in there for nearly 3 hours and combined with the fact we had a cocktail in the bar beforehand, the bill felt sinful. I was shocked and it means I won't be at the January sales! I guess that is how the other half lives. BRING A PHYSICAL CREDIT CARD There was also a moment with reception regarding the fact we had not brought a physical credit or debit card with us. This meant we could not use anything extra in the room or something because they could not take a £100 gurantee. I felt constrained by that and whenver I opened the fridge i epxepcetd the concierge to appear! I didn't know if the water in the fridge would be charged (I have been in other 5* plus hotels around the world and usually it is free) so I went without – there is always tap water! FIX THE DEEP HUM ON THE HEATING And the final thing, if we are talking about luxury – can you fix the noise on the heating in room 36 please – whenever it was on there was a loud low hum which was unacceptable. We turned the heating off in the end – thankfully the room was warm enough.
- Room Service- Very poor. Even when I walked uptown the Reception to request for something, say ICE CUBES or anything, they always forgot/ missed to deliver. Happen more than once. So it's not one off misses.
- Disliked the gravel driveways and footways. The main carpark is in need of urgent maintenance/repair. Using a single sized duvet in a double sized duvet cover, with the excess folded under, was hugely uncomfortable. The wash basin in the bathroom gets 9/10 for appearance and 1/10 for functionality.
- Pool was too hot to swim in which was such a disappointment as it was a lovely bh weekend and I had booked stay so I could use the pool. Food and drink at cocktail bar took forever to arrive and it wasn’t busy. Was met on arrival with a ‘you haven’t told us you were bringing your dog, we called you’ when I had not only replied to the message on booking.com to confirm I was, I also called back when I saw a missed call and confirmed again that I was. Not a 5 * way to treat a customer.

- Great restaurant on site – I had breakfast and dinner
- The room was very good, with plenty of room. Heating was just right on chilly January days. We did not eat at the property but the menu looked good. There was enough tea, coffee and milk though I'm sure if we had run out the staff would have been happy to replenish. We did not ask for the room to be cleaned during our stay.
- It was good size room. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice as well.
- Very clean and spacious rooms, staff very friendly and helpful
- Friendly and helpful staff – very accommodating. Room was really lovely and comfortable with great temperature control. Really nice food for dinner etc. Plenty of storage to hang clothes etc.
Negative reviews
- Heater wasn't able to warm up the room so it was a bit chilly.
- There was a bit of a smell of drains in the bedroom.
- Music playing outside room 14 in the outside area late in the evening which was disruptive, but when I went downstairs to ask them to switch off, really quickly rectified with apologies – I don't think they were aware this was an issue.
- Shower pressure waek
- The mattress in room 16 was so hard, the floor in the room would not have been far off in comparison.

- The ambiance of the hotel didn’t feel welcoming.
- The noice from the main air con units

- Half the staff were friendly half were not. The hand rails on the steps on the landing was not sufficient to stop my pensioner mother from falling and hurting herself, they were too flat to the wall nothing to grip onto.
- Disappointed that no bottled water was provided in room or biscuits to go with coffee which other hotels provide from our experience . Room was rather cold as was dining room . Did not stay for breakfast as we thought it was a bit expensive. Disappointed that we had to pay to park the car in the hotel carpark.
