- Our 3-night stay at this luxury boutique hotel exceeded every expectation. From the calming scent on arrival to the incredible attention to detail throughout, everything is designed to create a truly peaceful, switch-off-from-the-world experience — and it delivers perfectly. In reality, the room is even more beautiful than in the photos (which already looked great). Everything was perfectly thought out — spotless clean, fully equipped, and with an amazing view. The welcome was wonderful, and Marius at the reception made us feel immediately at home. A true 6-star place, not just 5. We’ll definitely come back!

- We had the most magical stay. The reception staff were so lovely and considerate. They were so helpful and went above and beyond including making sure we had dinner when we arrived late and looking after our bags after check out. The room was very comfortable and the spa area was excellent. We appreciated the turndown service and the complimentary snacks. Highly recommend the restaurant for lunch or dinner! Only a 10 minute walk from the train station. We also really appreciated the city pass included with the stay.
- We stayed at Castel Hörtenberg for two nights and it was truly incredible from start to finish. The setting is beautiful, the atmosphere refined yet relaxed, but what really made the stay unforgettable was the staff. A special thank you to Rigena, Hamza, and Ryan, who spent over an hour helping us make and maintain a fire so we could fully enjoy the outdoor evening. That level of care and dedication is rare and says everything about the spirit of this place. The spa is one of a kind, elegant, serene, and perfectly designed for deep relaxation. Breakfast was extremely generous, with a great variety and excellent quality. We also dined at the hotel’s restaurant, Le Segrete, which was outstanding, and the signature porcini ice cream was a surprising and memorable highlight. An exceptional stay in every sense. We’ll absolutely be back.

- Everything. From the beautiful facade, to the incredibly beautiful entrance to reception, from the helpful and friendly reception staff to the brilliant bar staff, nothing can top this place. It is in a very good location, the drinks and breakfast were brilliant, the rooms are wonderful. Definitely the most comfortable bed and pillows we have ever had the luxury of staying in. Beautiful views from the window to the mountains and cable car above. If you are ever wondering "will it be worth it?" It absolutely will, and it will exceed your expectations.

- Most of the hot options at breakfast were an extra charge. The coffee at breakfast was poor.
- The only downside was the Turkish bath, where the water needed changing. There was a noticeable odor, which disappeared once the water was replaced on our last day.
- The spa could be better. Also, when we got to the hotel we found out that guests that booked through booking.com have to pay for the parking (€20 a day) while other guests don’t.
- The pool outside was not 31 C, as we have been told, but was cooler
- Overall, a great stay. Just a couple of notes. The avocado toast at breakfast was a bit underwhelming, especially given the extra charge. Our room was near the stairs by the entrance, where there’s a speaker playing music in the hallway all night. The room door is fairly soundproof, but we could still hear it and woke up at one point wondering where the music was coming from. The parking fee was a bit of a surprise, but understandable given how close the hotel is to the center.

- Beautiful hotel and excellent food
- Avidea is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. It was so peaceful (adults only) from the moment we arrived, and the staff had thought of absolutely everything in order to make our stay perfect. The views are stunning, the hotel is on the beautiful Algunder Waalweg, the food was delicious from breakfast to dinner, with a huge variety, something for everyone, and the staff took care of our special dietary requirements without us even having to remind them each day. The spa and rooftop pool were superb and we enjoyed our massages very much. We would love to return one day! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so perfect.
- The hotel is beautiful and so well maintained. We visited in August and enjoyed both pools. The staff were really lovely and service was excellent. This is mainly German speaking but all staff were very happy to speak in English. The food was awesome. Such a good spread for breakfast and light lunch. Dinner is excellent and different menus each evening. There are nice walking trails straight out of the hotel. We would come back here again and again.

- Le attività di fitness non disponibili nei giorni della ns permanenza (domenica e lunedì) che forse porevano essere garantiti visto il periodo di vacanze natalizie e non chiarite in anticipo dallo staff, cmq sempre cortese e disponibile.
- Purtroppo l’esperienza non è stata all’altezza delle aspettative per un hotel spa a 5 stelle. Abbiamo soggiornato due notti e nessuno ci aveva avvisato preventivamente della chiusura imminente della struttura (2 giorni dopo) e abbiamo scoperto solo in loco che, a causa di tale chiusura non erano previste attività di alcun tipo, cosa che ha reso il soggiorno piuttosto piatto e poco stimolante. Inoltre sempre per questo motivo abbiamo dovuto lasciare la struttura alle 11 senza possibilità di prolungare la giornata in day spa come accade in strutture simili e per noi che ci eravamo organizzati il weekend in questo modo, è stata una mancanza. La sera finale, prima della chiusura della struttura, era disponibile un solo menù, senza possibilità di scelta e senza buffet, un servizio che ci si aspetta da una struttura di questo livello, soprattutto considerando il prezzo e la categoria dichiarata. Anche la spa è risultata un po’ deludente: l’acqua delle piscine era abbastanza fredda, e le saune aprono solo alle 13, limitando fortemente la fruizione mattutina e che include soltanto la piscina. Nel complesso, la struttura non è stata in grado di fornire servizi adeguati a un vero 5 stelle e al prezzo comunque alto, non è paragonabile ad altri hotel spa di pari categoria in cui abbiamo soggiornato negli anni passati.

The property is in a beautiful setting, has an amazing view, and is top notch in every way. The facilities are great, especially the pool and the Heaven and Hell spa. The food in the restaurant was outstanding with lots of variety and everything was wonderfully presented and was delicious. I HIGHLY recommend staying here when you're visiting the Dolomites!

- Air-conditioning didn’t work in both rooms we booked (we had ensured the balcony doors were locked and the AC unit was running for more than 2 hours but the rooms never cooled below 25 deg c). Glass walls for the toilet cubicle in room – lack of privacy. Dinner menu was complicated – hard to understand the actual menu of the day vs alternative options menu. There were only bar soaps provided in rooms for showering (including for hair) which takes a bit of getting used to (no conditioner provided).
- L’unica cosa che non mi è piaciuta è che il giorno della partenza non è possibile continuare a utilizzare la sauna senza un supplemento. Il check-out è alle 11 e, rispetto ad altre strutture dove è possibile rimanere nell’area benessere anche nel pomeriggio dopo aver lasciato la camera, qui questa possibilità non è prevista.

- When we arrive at the hotel we have the impression of being home in a large family property. Warm welcoming. We were in the main building with a view of the mountains and the first swimming pool. The room is modern. The terrace area is large but thanks to the sophisticated decoration there are plenty of small and intimate corners. It also offers games near the bar (baggamon, cards, chess, etc.) so you feel like you're at home.There are garden areas with chairs near the trees. It’s so cosy. There are two magnificent swimming pools. The SPA is very beautiful and the reading/silent room is beautiful. For Art’s lovers it is interesting and modern. Beautiful works everywhere. Like in a big house. The breakfast buffet is magical. Magnificent table with a great chef. Delicious. We feel good in the « apple fruits « region. AC works well – rooms all facing south.

- We decided to change the hotel where we always go for our anniversary with this one. Big mistake. At first everything’s good, quick response to out inquiries , early check-in with room upgrade . Pity that we found the upgrade price in the bill. They canceled it after we make it present but however be careful and check your bill. We also found the price of the little anniversary cake on the bill, 29€ . Never ever have we experienced such a thing , in Alto Adige or somewhere else. They also charged the water . At almost 500€ a night and very expensive wine list at least leave out the 4€ for the water . All this were not even the worst things that happened at that hotel. With free tables in the main dining room in front of the windows , we were seated back in a small and tight little place with kitchen view. We asked for another table , the maitre ‘’allowed’’the change. In the main dining room where only Germans , this must be the reason that we had to stay separate. Someone tell the maitre that is not allowed to do this things ! Also note for the staff responding to emails : it’s not enough to send email saying you will give us a nice table for celebrating our anniversary if you’re not going to do it!

- It felt like home! Extremely comfortable rooms and the location was a 10 min drive from the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful and you could even rent bikes from the front desk. Spa was excellent with a variety of facilities. I would highly recommend this hotel for someone wanting a quiet, relaxed holiday.
- This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. From the arrival until the end, everything was perfect, every wish fulfilled. The staff was very nice, we even got a softer materess or a breakfast to go when we asked for it! Morning yoga and evening meditations are included! The outside pool was just stunning, the whole area so relaxing. From the spa, we liked the infrarot sauna the best. In the mornings, we were presented a huge breakfast buffet and very tasty coffee. I would love to come back!
- We had a suite which was a beautiful room overlooking the pool with a balcony. Wonderful facilities: indoor pool, outdoor pool, rooftop hot tubs, steam room, sauna and cold plunge. The central outdoor enclosure around the pool was stunning. Fruit trees, hedges, flowers which gave the hotel a constant fleural aroma and provided hidden outdoor seating arrangements. This is off the backdrop of the mountains as well. The family runs it with a delicacy of care that is uncanny. For example, every morning you recieve a wax sealed menu for the evening should you choose to dine at the hotel in the evening. Or you can request the hotel to make a home made apple strudel to take home (free) as a parting gift. I also loved the lodge like bar which hosted a variety of whiskies and cigars (gents you'll love this). I could go on. In summary if you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful mountainous setting, this is your hotel. Thank you Ansitz Plantiz I am sure we'll be back!
- What makes Hotel Ansitz Plantiz so special: The friendly personnel: We read some negative reviews regarding the staff, however this situation, if true, has been remedied. The personnel at the front desk, bars, room service and dining areas always greeted us with a warm and welcoming smile. Any questions or requests we had were immediately addressed in a friendly manner. The Golden Spa: The Golden Spa area was the most relaxing spa we have visited. The bio infra-red cabin was fantastic. It was located in what felt like a small outdoor tranquil oasis where we could hear the birds singing from outside. In another area of the spa is a large, yet cozy, sauna and an aromatic steam room. The food and wine: we were impressed by the high quality of the food. The experienced chef created 4 courses which were delicious. The antipasto buffet was a meal in and of itself. Breakfast was super with omelettes cooked to your order, freshly prepared fruit and vegetable smoothies. The rooms: we stayed one of the panoramic view rooms which gave us a bird’s eye view of the alps and the beautiful grounds of the hotel. The location: the hotel is perfectly located with only a 6 minute car ride or 12 minute bus ride to the beautiful center of Merano. The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. We walked out of the hotel and were in the heart of breath taking hikes, bike trails and lifts into the alps. The 2 heated pools, 2 whirlpools and the hotel gardens were beautifully situated surrounded by majestic views of the alps. They spoil their guest: a desert lovers fantasy is the afternoon cake buffet which is free of charge when you order a coffee. Boutique hotel: offers personalized service for any special needs or fancies you may have. Activities: yoga, Pilates, body and mind lectures, tractor rides through the orchids, wine tours, hikes, walks etc. etc. Ambience: perfect mix of classic alpine & sophisticated modern. Checkout day free use of the Golden Spa & facilities.

- SPA access is limited to 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. Not acceptable in a 5 stars hotel and not in line with adjacent competition. Parking spaces are way too tight. Rooms smaller than local competitors. Some client-facing members of staff not experienced enough.
- As the pool is somewhat small, getting into the spa requires planning in advance and book a specific hour.
- The elevator buttons. Only pointed down: not up. I got off of 6 trips that took me down not up. Needs to be fixed as a 5 STAR HOTEL.

- The location and facilities is perfect for cycling, hiking, etc or simply seat back, relax and shutdown. Garden and Spa, beautifully setup, I give 10 points to it. The evening dinner is amazing, not regreted taking the half-board package.

- The location is absolutely perfect — very close to the city center, and everything you might need is just around the corner. The hotel is also directly connected to a mall, which was extremely convenient.

- The pillows weren’t very comfortable and the shower products could have been better.
- The reception asked for a 100euro deposit. That’s fair enough. However, the reason given was that we may take something from the minibar. After checking the minibar we found just two bottles of water which we thought was ridiculous.
