Lekkere bedden. Het was er erg rustig. Personeel super vriendelijk. Koffie/thee is gratis.
Prof.Dr.K.G.Dorst

- Amazing hotel, the facilities were world class, an amazing spa and bars
- Location. View from the room and roof bar. Nice outside pool. Nice and friendly staff. Clean.
- Perfect location and a wonderful hotel. I can highly recommend it if you want an unforgettable experience.
- Everything was perfect
- The Steam Hotel, in itself is a stunning piece of architecture. The location is also fabulous overlooking Lake Mälaren. Maybe we missed it but a copper plaque detailing the history of the building and site would be a fantastic addition to this iconic venue. We stayed in October, and despite a busy environment had a wonderful morning at the Voltage Lounge Club, whilst we awaited our room. This spa boasts stunning views, indoor and outdoor pools and a chilled environment. Our room was spacious and had a view on the 15th floor. The bed was generous, a bit soft for our liking, but we got a good night's sleep regardless. Facilities were exceptional. We had dinner at The Chamberlain and drinks at the Locavore, an Asian style bar on Floor 17 with stellar views of Västerås at night. Dinner was good, but there were issues. The real gem of this hotel, other than the site is the staff, everyone was charming and welcoming- I would like to make a special mention to Marie at the front desk who got us into our room by 2pm. Also Diana at Locavore who created a non-alcoholic cocktail specially to my taste, that was pleasing. Both women were attentive and professional. I commend the bars in this hotel for having mocktails, as I am a non-alcoholic. Maybe having photos of the drinks would be a next recommendation or videos running on a screen. Visual enticement is a good way to encourage people to try something new. Breakfast was the star of show, and we'd return just for that! A wonderful stay with superb highlights!
Negative reviews
- The staff perhaps could have been a little more friendly
- The fact that on arrival we were asked if we wanted the room cleaned on Saturday and we said yes, we also spoke to the cleaners about cleaning the room but they still somehow managed to NOT clean the room. That was very disappointing
- Bath towels were small, exclusion area for under 18s
- It is a very, very noisy hotel and definitely not a place to go for relaxation. The soundproofing in the rooms leave a lot to wish for, you can hear people in the hallway as if they were inside the room, and your neighbours through the walls. Also, the drinks at the bar are insanely expensive, not quite on par with the price of the hotel itself.
- Don't say you have 3 swimming pools but can't even swim in them ..only floaters with cocktails . Why call them pools then..if you can't swim in them ? Very misleading marketing.

- Excellent hotel. Comfortable beds, great breakfast, fika and evening meals. Perfect location for business and leisure
- Excellent service
- Central location, clean and well maintained, easy access and reasonable rooms and very good price for meals included which were fine.
- The hotel is very cosy, the staff is very friendly & welcoming, breakfast and dinner were really delicious, and there was even free coffee and fika. Additionally, the room was spacious and had a great view 🙂
- The room was huge and the bed extremely comfortable. Really enjoyed the meals provided. The staff were also a highlight of our stay as they were so friendly and accommodating. Location is fantastic, right in the heart of the city. Highly recommended.
Negative reviews
- This was not the hotel's fault but there were works going on outside the hotel on the street between 23.00 and later. It was quite noisy and disturbed my sleep. I had to put my ear buds in.. Obviously this is out of the hotel's control but why was it permitted to do such works so late at night. If I was the hotel manager I would take this up with the local authorities.
- the sofa bed wasn't very comfortable to sleep on and was a bit squeaky. There was only two available child chairs at the restaurant, I would recommend to have more chairs for kids in case needed 🙂
- Dinner buffe could have been better.
- In some rooms, the wifi is weaker and less stable – apparently, this depends on the distance to the router.
- The tea and coffe cups dont have handles which means you burn yourself on the cup when you carry them to the table, aweful. Please change cups and then the breakfast will be even better. Was already one of the best I have eaten!

- Pleasent old building with interioir designed in modern and moderate stile.
- Good location, close to shops and restaurants and in walking distance of the city hall, train/bus station, old town etc. Helpful friendly staff. Nice pub on site a bonus. Decent breakfast options even for a vegan(!). Clean. Looked visually appealing and cosy. Good room temp and facilities. We had a lovely view of the church too.
- A lovely, characterful hotel in a superb location. Parking opportunity on site. Extremely comfortable bed with a choice of pillows. Lot of choice at breakfast.
- The building is located in close proximity to many attractions, a quiet relaxing atmosphere in a hotel with a very interesting pub where you can eat delicious food.
- I think they did that extra mile. It was raining cats and dogs and they had umbrella for free to borrow. They also have a pillow menu and that was great. Nice breakfast with lots of options and friendly receptionist.
Negative reviews
- If needed to mention, bed was little softer then it should be 🙂
- Our room was located immediately to the left of the central staircase and we were woken up by returning guests in the early hours and disturbed again by guests on their way to breakfast.
- Limited number of parking spaces
- Old building so the rooms are cold, even with AC. Bathroom drains smell bad.
- Sauna is too hot. That is near 100 celsius

- Perfect for three people! Got a surprise when we opened the door and the room was actually three small rooms. Breakfast was great! Nice host!
- Trevlig personal och mycket god mat. Läget var vackert. Nära till Skultuna Messing. Fina strövområden.
- Väldigt bra frukost. Real scrambled eggs and real bacon, no bullsh*t. perfect. Mycket trevligt rum samt sympatisk personal. Läget precis intill Skultuna bruk samt promendstråk. kunde inte bli bättre. strålande wifi! lätt uppkopplat
Negative reviews
- A new cook just started. The food was really tasty, but the short menu list can become a problem if you stay multiple nights.
- Some rooms/bathrooms need a refurbishment
- No regular offer of dinner

- Good hotel for kids – free mocktails, kids play area. Loads of free parking.
- Hotel with a great breakfast buffet and large parking, close to the motorway
- The hotel was modern, comfortable, clean and the reception team were very welcoming and knowledgeable. The breakfast was a great spread and I enjoyed everything that I tried. My son who chooses a vegan diet also had plenty of options.
- Comfortable room. Good breakfast.
Negative reviews
- Road noise and sound from next room/walk way up as quite audible
- No lunch open.
- I just didn’t like the late check in (4pm) but in the other way they have late check out so I don’t know but I wish it was earlier check in time. Hade to update my rum and pay early check in fee( checked in at 14:00)
- U need to book pool before u can use it. When we arrived there was no more pool and sauna time left on that evening
- Comfortable room, but needs a refreshing renovation. Replace old glasses in the bathroom. I would like more fruit for breakfast, and labels next to the smoked meats for breakfast (cold or hot smoked). Very thin toilet paper

- Good location. Warm. Great breakfast. Loved the sauna and steam room. Tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom. Comfy bed. Coffee and cakes in reception in the afternoon.
- The hotel is located in a very centric position, just 10 min walking from Västerås train station and near bars and supermarkets. The staff was really helpful and kind: because I had to leave the hotel early in the morning they prepared a breakfast box for me so I could take it with me. Also, during the first night the room I got had a bad smell (maybe a problem with the ventilation) and when I mentioned it at the reception, they chanced my room. Much appreciated!
- The hotel was comfortable and I plan to stay there again when I return.
- Decent choice in Västerås for its price. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was decent, location is good.
- It is well located, easy to access and it was very quiet, and clean
Negative reviews
- It looks a bit tired. There were no staff in reception the next day when it should have been manned from 06.30-21.00hrs.
- The hotel does not have AC, so on hot days it can get a little warm in the room. Contributing to the heat are the heated towel racks in the bathroom. The staff was kind enough to provide fans to help with air circulation. I really appreciated that!
- Too weak waterflow in the shower
- Same things for breakfast daily
- Bread at the morning was stale for two continuous days

- Clean, Nice location and good breakfast.
- Breakfast buffet was great! Staff were friendly and facility was very clean.
- Quite and the staff are polite also the free parking
- Good location, close to the center
- The area is quiet, nice, close to the center of 15-20 minutes walk, which is very cool. The hotel staff is very friendly, the tall guy at the reception is so polite😚, delicious breakfast, but dinners 3/5 (for payment) in general, there were no problems associated with the hotel, I advise!
Negative reviews
- Sofa is converted to bed, but no extra chair to sit 😔
- The hotel design is from 80th, and my room for 1 person was a size of coffin. In bathroom you better don’t focus on details to keep peace of mind, however, all the facilities were working though and the water pressure and temperature were good. The noise from the big road, which is just in front of the hotel, was so loud, like all the cars were bypassing through my room. So you need to have a really strong ear plugs otherwise be prepared to wake up at 5 am every day.
- The window soundproofing could be improved, as the road can be noisy
- Furniture and Bathroom is pretty pretty old and used
- Cold in the room. Dirty. Bad breakfast.

- Frengly staff, activity area with table tennis, biljard, gym and sauna. Quiet location, free parking.
- Very efficient rooms, friendly staff & excellent breakfast.
- This was an old military base so you had no problem parking. It was a very nice place for a one night stay. Breakfast was good
- calm neighborhood
- Interesting and neat hotel, easy to access via code, it's a bit far from the town but what I needed as I had an early flight and walking distance to the airport (I walked anyway). The room was comfortable and fine, the bathroom was good, a range of facilities, and decent breakfast in the morning.
Negative reviews
- The place is rather outdated, the double room was ridiculously small.
- We chose this hotel because it was near the airport, but this proved to be no advantage. We still needed to take a taxi, because of our luggage, and there are no restaurants in the area, so we had to go into town to eat.
- It was small but adequate for one night stay. There was no one on site so check in is a little strange. Be sure to print out the instructions.
- the floor on the bathroom is uneven, water can't get drained after showering
- Breakfast was narrow, rooms not silent, toilet paper ran out etc
